Cargo Van Conversion to our Camper Van

Greetings Sisters,

I give you this verse...

But godliness with contentment is great gain.
(1 Timothy 6:6)

Being content goes contrary to the world who is always striving for more.  In fact my husband, brother Jim, and I are striving to minimize and downsize even more than we have. Let me share with you one way we are doing that!

The first mission trip we took, we lived in the back of our minivan.  We each had 24" of space to sleep...it was cozy:-)

We had our clothes and food stored under the bed so there wasn't room to fully sit up and it was a challenge to dress, but we were content and thankful to be used of the Lord to be out in the world proclaiming the truth.  That little van was our safe haven in a dark world.

See this cargo trailer?

We spent the next 2 summers (and part of the fall) living in that  (6' x 12')  and Jim's carving tools were in the van.

Well...we decided that we wanted start working toward more mission trips all year long so we are going to turn our cargo van into a camper van.

We will then put Jim's tools in the trailer and we can haul carvings in it too because we do carving jobs all over the states as we are out on mission trips.

So what this transformation does is get our van ready for full time living like we will need on the road this summer and fall and it will always be ready for last minute mission trips.   It gives us freedom from having to haul the trailer around and of course with that freedom comes the loss of conveniences, but we are content and thankful for the opportunity to serve the Lord and fulfill the commision to go and preach the gospel.

It seems the less we have the more content we are because our focus is less distracted from the things of God.

We're excited and I can't wait to share the process with you and see what the end result is:-)

Have a joyous day sisters,
God be praised.
