Titus 2 Keeper at Home

Image
Greetings sisters! To my fellow keepers at home, I send love and blessings to you to rejoice in the life the Lord has given you.  To my obedient sisters, I praise you in your faithfulness, your unfailing duty of serving others, your giving and loving nature you bestow upon those in your life. I made a quick video for keepers at home:-) It's such a simple life but one that can be fulfilling and enjoying if we focus on the Lord and not what we want that we don't have.  Let us be content with food and raiment and anything else is a blessing.  (1 Timothy 6) Have a joyous day sisters. Home Wrecking Women Not Reading 2 Peter 2

Image
Greetings Sisters! I pray you are staying off the internet for your theology!  That's what this post is about...getting off the internet and into God's Word.  Once again we see another professed Christian woman on the internet getting unbiblical theology (teaching) and causing turmoil in the household.  Ladies, please don't do this.  We continuously hear of women who are lonely and then they go poking around in youtube etc and of course satan gives them just what they are looking for disguised as biblical teaching, deceiving yet another itchy ear. Biblical fellowship is a blessing 'if' the Lord has believers for you BUT we are living in and heading towards the end times where there needs to be a falling away (2 Thessalonians 2) first.  What we're hearing is that women are being swept away in the video vlogs with families that 'look somewhat' biblical yet if you test their teachings (as we have tested many of them) you will see they do not procl

Hello sisters! I'm hope you are doing well and standing strong in His Word!  I'm so excited to share this with you....I've tried it out for several days before posting this because I wanted to make sure it was as good as it was the first day, and it is! This thing has saved me so much pain and struggles, I had to share it with you all. A hair bun clip to use for putting up your hair for your headcovering. Here's a video I made of it giving more details and how to wear it. I am so thankful for such a simple thing and I hope it's been a help to you as well! From Bad to Biblical - A Story about a Family Striving to Clean Up Their House

Image
Hello Sisters! I hope you are well today and looking forward to spring time?  I guess that all depends on where you live though!  We see the squirrels and birds chaising each other around so it won't be long and there will be baby critters in the woods again:-) I'm excited to share a story with you about a family in another country that has been changed by the blood of Christ through their faith they have repented and are born again and are striving on in obedience. They live in a city of 1 million people and they know of not one other holy set apart believer there...but praise God they found our website and we can encourage them. They have a little girl who they homeschool (praise God because public schools are not for God's children) and in this homeschooling they are finding a lot of unbiblical issues to deal with as well as every day life.  Of course we know this life will bring many trials but learning how to cope with them and do the best we can while we are still

God Provides!

Good Morning Sisters! I did a video with my husband brother Jim (I love calling him my brother:-) as we were heading out to do a job and in the video I share an interesting story. Check out this little guy, he was a gift to someone as you'll see in the video. (One of her grandchildren were there so it was fun seeing his excitement:-) I hope your day is joyous in the Lord! Keeper of the Home and my Journey in Them

Image
Hello Sisters! Here's a video of me sharing a bit of our journey and the homes I have been the keeper of :-) It explains why going forward (on keeper of the home issues) my perspective is the way it is. Jim suggested I find some of the posts I had from a homestead blog I used to do, so in the future I might share some of them at some point! Have a joyous day. God be praised! Filling Children up With God's Creation and Good Wholesome Activities

Image
Hello Sisters! We are still at our Missouri homestead enjoying what looks to be spring weather.  The birds are singing and we have sunshine, we are thankful! But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 19:14 Jim and I were talking and he said I should write on this topic as many of you may be blessed to have children to raise in the Lord, unfortunately ours were grown and gone before we were born again but all we need is God's Word to teach us how to raise children (we have grandchildren) so we will simply encourage you with ideas and stories of others as we come across subjects like this in hopes that it will be of help and encouragement. We know of families that have young children.... some of those families have both believing parents and some have only one believing parent.  Some have raised their children in the Lord from a very young age and some are trying to remove theirs from the worl

Christian Women's Shirts What are the Best Options?

Image
Good morning sisters! I pray you are standing strong in the Lord and not letting this world weaken you! Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and the power of His might.  Ephesians 6:10 We have several articles about biblical clothing on our discernment blog and I have some posted here on the sister blog as well and I have a simple pattern for a quick sew skirt you can find here:  https://titus24sisters.blogspot.com/2019/03/sew-simple-2-panel-skirt.html But I didn't talk about what to look for in shirts to go with skirts. I personally prefer skirts and shirts for the most part because they seem to add a bit more coverage and allow more flow than most dresses....but I'm not saying all dresses are unbiblical we just have to be careful in what we choose and keep these in consideration: 1. If the dress is made of heavier material it will not cling to the whole body like a lightweight but it might hang heavier upon the bosom area and potentially

Sew a Simple Girls T Shirt Dress

Image
Hello Sisters, I just wanted to make a quick post on how to sew a simple girls dress using a Tshirt and some fabric to sew on the bottom.  I looked and cannot find the original source of this hand draw picture as I found it on many websites. Here are the blown up steps: Keep in mind that Tshirts are okay for undeveloped girls and be sure that it has sleeves on it.  Also you want plain, unadorned materials in keeping with 1 Timothy 2 and 1 Peter 3. Remember, these are simple cloths to cover the body so if you don't do it exactly right or something is a bit crooked, your daughter won't care, neither will God! I hope this helps you. How To Wrap Your Head to Keep Warm In the Winter!

Image
Hello sisters! We were asked some questions about how a woman can keep her head warm in the winter considering she has her hair up and the headcovering on.   Stocking caps are an option but it's hard to pull on a cap over hair that has been put up and then still having the headcovering on and not to mention trying to keep the headcover in place when removing it.  So, I decided to do a quick video about how I wrap my head in the winter months.  (I also have ear muffs that I can use under my scarves if need be.) That big black scarf that I show in the first part of the video is a favorite article of clothing because it's useful for many things.  Not only is it good as a headscarf for cold weather including covering part of my face from the wind....when we are out on the road traveling on mission work sometimes in the evenings when gets cool I like use it as a shawl and there are times I like to take my hair down but not have to be secluded in our van while we a

Put Your Hand To the Plow and Don't Look Back!

Image
Greetings Sisters! I pray you are standing strong today!  Beware.... Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devou r   (1 Peter 5:8) Satan is a roaring lion and be careful sisters because he pounces on those who are in a weakened state.   Maybe you heard some of my previous videos where I shared how we went through some of the most trying times we've ever had on our walk in the Lord and I struggled mightily through it....but praise God we are on the other side and I'm getting stronger every day. I asked Jim to do a quick sketch for me (the one above) of a woman with her hand to the plow because that's me, I want to be worthy of the kingdom of God and I can't be if I'm looking at what is behind instead of pressing forward. And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:62 I don't know about you but it

Fast and Easy No Sew Headcovering

Image
Hello sisters! I did a quick video on how you can make a fast and easy, no sew headcovering!  It's a great start until you find something you are comfortable with, or you might like it permanently! I used an old Tshirt just to show you how to whip one up, check out the video... I didn't take a picture of it on so I grabbed a different picture I had to give you a refernce. The great thing about the Tshirt material is that it stretches, which makes it more comfortable. Remember that headcoverings go along as part of biblical dress.   If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15 If you are interested you can check out the style headcovering I wear all the time here: https://titus24sisters.blogspot.com/2019/03/what-i-wear-for-headcovering.html Let me know if you have any questions. God be praised! Sister Deb

Cargo Van Conversion to our Camper Van

Image
Greetings Sisters, I give you this verse... But godliness with contentment is great gain.  (1 Timothy 6:6) Being content goes contrary to the world who is always striving for more.  In fact my husband, brother Jim, and I are striving to minimize and downsize even more than we have. Let me share with you one way we are doing that! The first mission trip we took, we lived in the back of our minivan.  We each had 24" of space to sleep...it was cozy:-) We had our clothes and food stored under the bed so there wasn't room to fully sit up and it was a challenge to dress, but we were content and thankful to be used of the Lord to be out in the world proclaiming the truth.  That little van was our safe haven in a dark world. See this cargo trailer? We spent the next 2 summers (and part of the fall) living in that  (6' x 12')  and Jim's carving tools were in the van. Well...we decided that we wanted start working toward more mission trips all year long s

What I Wear for a Headcovering

Image
Greetings Sisters! I hope this evening you are doing well and standing strong in the Lord!  Jim and I just did a quick video for our Married and in the Word series (we do that on our ministry blog dontperish.com under videos) talking about rejoicing, no matter what the circumstance. What a great reminder because we can get swept away in the troubles of this world if we aren't careful.  Anyway I thought I would share with you some thoughts on headcovering and what I do.  (I'm not saying you need to do what I do, I just want to share with you what I have found to be the most covering and comfortable.) I'll also do a video at some point but for now I have some pictures and will describe how I cover.   I found a big lightweight scarf on Amazon for $9.   It was 70" x 40". I cut it in half so I had 2 squares, enough for 2 headcoverings!   Then I took one of them and folded it over to make a triangle.  I measured it so you have an idea of the size for
