Quietness and Encouragement

Image
Greetings to my striving sister saints! Praise God for the Holy Spirit... Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.   John 16:13  And that we each are partakers of if we are born from above (John 3:3 born again).  We can't have the Holy Spirit if we have not repented or are not continuing to repent of any sins that come up in our life.  Praise God through His power we can endure through this life in the genuine saving faith in obedience all the way until the end.  This morning brother James cut off the dry rot parts of the wood that we salvaged from the spools yesterday. We gathered all the cedar bark I peeled and stored it away as it's great to start fires.  A full wood bin again. Those pieces burn so good, great for flaring up the fire for cooking, which I did today. I cooked up a batch of noodles and a small pot of

Lessons From Nature

Good evening sisters! I saw this awesome sight and wanted to share it with you .   There are many lessons we can learn just by watching that. * Quietness * * Peace * * Obedience * * Following * * Order * * Submission * * Trust * The life of a godly woman is one of many trials and she has to learn how to navigate through it in the strength of the Lord....not her own or she will fall.   She needs to put all her trust in the Lord, not man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.   Psalm 118:8    She needs to follow after our Savior by being obedient to the Word and that means we have to do the hard things, just like Jesus did. He was betrayed by one who was close to Him, and many ran from Him. He was wrongfully accused, hated, lied about and suffered for the sins of mankind. Yet did He stand up and try to defend Himself? Did He argue that they were wrongly judging Him?  He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we

The Silent Sweeper

Shout praises to our King, sisters! For He has made the way for us, amen.  What a joyous thing to think about every morning when you wake up.  It gets your mind on Him instead of self and circumstances.  (Yes, I know that's easier said than done sometimes but we are to do that none the less.) We were in a town a few days ago that offered a place for us to sit outside while working online and enjoying a refillable cup of coffee, the marketplace :-)  There was a little, older Mexican woman doing the rounds of cleaning everything from sweeping to mopping, washing tables, chairs and the counters as well as cleaning up the outside area.  She did a cycle of it all and then went back and repeated it once it was done.  As we were leaving, I went inside to give her a gospel card and told her she was doing a good job.  She smiled and her husband (we assume it was him as she talked to him a few times while he sat at a table)  did as well.   A meek and quiet spirit came to mind as I watched th

The Blessing of Being Quiet

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ, I pray you are doing well and standing in the truth. I want to talk about the blessing of being quiet. I'm not saying that women can't speak, I'm simply suggesting that we all ponder that quiet spirit we see in 1 Peter 3. But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. 1 Peter 3:4 Having a quiet spirit is truly a blessing if women would embrace it because it's a protection for her.  If you are quiet you never have to worry about taking back words that you would rather have not said.   You don't have to worry about hurting someone's feelings or causing strife and trouble.  You don't have to worry about someone taking your comments wrong or thinking you have a wrong motive. You can prepare yourself if someone is provoking you to saying  something you don't want.   You have time to think about and cho

Do I Need To Be Heard?

Image
Good evening sisters in Christ! We are rejoicing in a day that was filled with hard work and there is a great satisfaction in a job well done.  We are plugging away on our garden, a little here and there but not getting anxious because we are starting from ground up, once again.   In this post I want to encourage us all to ponder the question " Do I Need To Be Heard ?"  Culture shows through psychology and all sorts of emotional tests, that women 'just want to be heard'.  Quite honestly, it's not just a woman's issue because pretty much anyone wants to be heard if they think they have something of value to say but my question is do we 'need' to be heard? I see 2 areas in life where women want their voice to be heard.  Personal and biblical. (I'm generalizing everything under those.)  In the personal areas we normally want to share our victories, trials, struggles, thoughts and possibly looking for input while discussing topics etc.  Thes

The Mightiness of Meekness

Greetings sisters in Christ! Praises to you sisters who are actively killing your feminist flesh and are striving to be obedient daughters of the most High. The other day while we were out at an event with our gospel signs and brother Jim preaching, women would walk by and boldly mock. (Men would also but I'm focusing on the women here.)  At one point a woman was walking by with her husband making the ' yak, yak, yak ' hand motion like this: Seconds later she stumbled (did not fall) over the leg of a street barricade and then the next one.  Brother Jim said that people reap what they sow and to let that be a lesson to her not to mock the things of God.  Not long after that, another woman stepped up to brother Jim while he was preaching and wanted to talk, so he gave her a gospel card and asked if she had a husband.  She said yes, pointed to a man behind brother Jim and demanded that he answer why she couldn't talk without her husband. (Note: It's biblic
