Servant Sisters Cooking

Good evening sister saints! How are you doing in your area of the world?  Are you keeping watch, being salt, ready to give an answer, obediently following His word?  Let's all encourage one another on this path, one day at a time, until the day we go home. After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes?...

Preaching and Pottage-Red Lentil Soup Recipe (with videos)

Good evening to my obedient sisters in the Lord! How was (or is) your day?  I made a video for you before we headed out to go do some witnessing at an event. It turned out to be an awesome place for preaching as the people were lined up waiting to get into the festival, so we walked along them until we got to the entrance then stood there throughout the rest of the day. You can see the videos HERE if you are interested.  It was a very full day of sharing the truth of God's Word and we were joyous that many gospel cards were taken.  We don't massively hand them out but instead we stand off to the side and hold them out, letting people make the effort to reach or walk over to get one.  Praise God for the truth to go out and we pray there was a sheep among them.  Well, there was this woman who took a card, made a cross sign, smiled and walked off before I could say anything.  She came back later and thanked us for the card and talked for a bit of which ...

No Fancy Fare or Wear

Good evening sisters in Christ! And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,  Acts 2:46 I love verse how they ate with gladness and singleness of heart. Singleness is like simplicity.  I'm sure their meals weren't fancy like the kings or what we see today in the average household.  No, I'm not here to bash the way anyone cooks, you can cook however you like and do it heartily as unto the Lord :-)  I just share our simple life to encourage others that do so, you're not strange or alone.  In a world where there's food on every corner (here in America anyway), plastered all over the highways on billboards, all over the internet etc, I want to be a refreshing light of simplicity in all ways, even food.   This is a big deal because sisters have to cook for their family and it can consume a lot of time.  Although it is a very enjoyable ta...

Quick Soup and Dumplings

Image
Greetings sisters! Praise God for whatever provisions we have and for us, the more simple the better:-) I've shared how I like to make my own soup on the road such as THIS POST  about thermos soup.  Well, there are times we are busy and with a day that we're not sure what's going on, I don't always make soup ahead and like to have an assortment of canned soups on hand.  I'm glad I do because late tonight, after witnessing (you can see that HERE ) I was able to whip up soup and dumplings in about 10 minutes. When I find discounted soup, I stock up. I try to get the most natural I can but I don't stress over it. When I'm in an actual house (even if it is tiny:-) I make my breads, biscuits and dumplings from scratch but on the road I use a mix. Yep, there's a few ingredients I wouldn't put in mine but my Father is bigger than anything on this earth and I won't eat anything that I wouldn't serve my Savior. We buy cups of ice for the cooler becau...

Love, Lights, Shocks and Blocks

Image
Greetings to all you sisters in Christ, scattered around the world! Let our lights so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify our Father which is in heaven! (Matthew 5:16)   There's always so much going on that sometimes I just don't know what to pick to post here for you sisters.  An update, a witnessing experience, a keeper at home subject etc...all of which, hopefully, is an encouragement in one way or another. Today I thought I'd do a post on love, lights, shocks and blocks.  Maybe with some other things added into it, we'll see as I go:-) Love.  God's Word teaches us that love (agape) is not just a feeling, it's an action.  When it comes to husband and wife there is to be agape love as well as a more close love between to people but for the sake of not teaching theology here, I just wanted to give some examples of that sort of love in a simple manner in our life. The world teaches to show love on certain days, buying things...

An Unconventional Picnic (and lots of videos)

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! I thought I'd share a bit of insight of my keeper of the home activities...we had a picnic:-)  Yep, when we left the sinful city we were in, we ventured into the wilderness for almost 2 whole days of no driving, no street preaching, no sign holding but lots of online ministry in the quiet of God's creation. While we were there we had a picnic.  A simple one at that:-) Here's a video of our camp spot.   Which by the way is the first time we've paid to camp in 2 years.  $12 per night and we got all the water we needed so of course I washed every speck of clothing I could find:-)  And brother Jim got to have a fire, he was joyous about that! It was the only place we could find without having to drive more hours after being out witnessing and it was on the way to our next destination.   We enjoyed a bit of quiet time by the water and brother Jim made a teaching video, you can find that HERE on his teachin...
