Thankfulness in all Things and More

Image
Greetings to my sister saints who I love in the Lord! I'm thankful for my true sister saints and for those who might be some day:-)  I made an audio to encourage us all to be thankful for all we have and to look deeper at the blessings God has given us which will cultivate a more thankful attitude.   (You could go HERE instead to listen to it if you want.) Brother James had to drop a tree that was by the storage trailer but had some work to do before he could. He had to remove a couple cedar trees that he didn't want to but they had to be taken out. Then he had to strap the tree to another one and tighten it so it would (hopefully) keep it from falling on the trailer in the wrong direction. Here he goes... I'm thankful for so much right there, let's see: A husband who loves the Lord. One who knows how to run a chainsaw and cut down trees. His health to do it. The chainsaw, chain, gas and strap. The trees that will be reused for building or fires. The tree didn't c

Grumbling or Gratefulness

Good day sister saints! As a Titus 2 godly woman I often think ( while I'm cooking)  of the manna that the Israelites were given from God.  He gave them the gift of freedom from the Egyptians and provided for them but we see that they soon began being ungrateful and grumbling.   And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick: But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes. Numbers 11:4-6  And what happened? And the people stood up all that day, and all that night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp. And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the

Greetings to our sister saints around the world! Praise the Lord that we get to send such encouragement to everyone with the press of a button.  Obviously satan will use this technology for His ill will but for the time being we shall shine our light in it!  Today as we were traveling we were greeted with passersby's (flying like 80 mph) honking angrily and giving obscene gestures but our light was shining.  (As a side note, they like to drive fast around here!)  I grew up when it was a big deal to make it as fast as 55 mph in our old vehicles and since then the vehicles go like crazy and the roads are opened for it.  In fact, one area through Oklahoma says you cannot go under 60 mph.  So you would get a ticket for wanting to go slower and be safe?  I don't know about this world, and we constantly see signs stating the death count on the highways for that state, like 686 and its not the end of the year yet.   Anyway, today was a travel day and then brother Jim changed the oil

Being Quietly Content

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! Let us rejoice in this day, where God has us, and strive on until He brings us home.  Today I want to talk about being quietly content.  1 Peter 3 tells us godly women that we should have a meek and quiet spirit and if we explore that meaning we see it is  ' mildness of disposition, humble, gentleness ' and it stems from trust in God's goodness and control over a situation.  Quiet is ' still, undisturbing, keeping one's seat, peaceable quiet, tranquil '.  That draws a picture of a quiet woman who is content to allow God to take over and she is mild and peaceable in her spirit.  That's an attribute that is not something that you just ' do ', it's something you ' become '.  It becomes a part of who you are and your spirit will reflect that.  Let me ask you this...shouldn't a woman who has a meek and quiet spirit, also be content?  Of course God's word tells all believers to be content in all things as w

Greetings sisters in Christ! Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name  Jah , and rejoice before him. A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land. O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah: The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel. Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary. Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor. The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.   Kings of armies did flee apace: and she that tarried at home divided the spoil. Though ye hav

Grumbling or Gratitude, A New Scripture Stick and Evening Enjoyment

Image
Good evening to our sisters in Christ! Praise God, the other night brother Jim was sharing some scripture verses that he was using in an article and an elderly man heard, walked over and started talking.  Brother Jim gave him the gospel and as usual, warned him about the lies of man made religion.  Be diligent and you never know how the Lord will work in your life and shine the light of His truth to others! I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 I looked up a dent and bent (discount grocery) store in the town we are staying so we stopped in to see what they have.  I'm going to confess that I had a brief moment of grumbling in my mind because upon first impression, I was not impressed.  I immediately compared it to the big, bright, clean, well laid out stores we are used to, but I chastised mysel

Our Front Yard

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! You probably already know that following Christ is not 'your best life now' as most Sunday preachers will tell you.  We are shown that we will suffer much here on earth... These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33 ...and are told to be content with food and raiment (clothing)... And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 1 Timothy 6:8 If a Christian strips their life down from becoming like the world, loving the things of the world and killing their flesh, they will have a life of simplicity, peace and joy.  We find the more we strip away, the more content and thankful we are. In that, I thought I would show you what our front yard looked like this morning. Based on the way we were parked and the traffic flow, we had cars coming right by our open van door.  At one point a semi truck with tr

Greetings sisters in Christ! I pray that every day you are drawing closer to the Lord and not away into the world and your flesh.  Every day is a battle of the flesh over the Spirit and if we continue in His Word in obedience, we will be victorious! 1Judge me, O  Lord ; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the  Lord ; therefore I shall not slide. 2  Examine me, O  Lord , and prove me; try my reins and my heart. 3  For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth. 4  I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers. 5  I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked. 6  I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O  Lord : 7  That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. 8  Lord , I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth. 9  Gather not my soul with sinners, n
