Grumbling or Gratefulness

 Good day sister saints!

As a Titus 2 godly woman I often think (while I'm cooking) of the manna that the Israelites were given from God.  He gave them the gift of freedom from the Egyptians and provided for them but we see that they soon began being ungrateful and grumbling.

And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick: But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes. Numbers 11:4-6

And what happened?

And the people stood up all that day, and all that night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp. And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the Lord was kindled against the people, and the Lord smote the people with a very great plague.  And he called the name of that place Kibroth-hattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted. (Numbers 11:32-34)

I know I've spoke of this before but it's always good to go back and remind ourselves of such things as the flesh is weak and we all have the tendency to be as the dog....

As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly. (Proverbs 26:11)

And the sow...

But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. (2 Peter 2:22)

So let's make sure we we are content with our foods, our house, our vehicle, our life, our husband or lack of, children or lack of etc.  The more simple you are, the less you are attached to this life and the easier it is to kill the flesh and be able to focus on the Lord and obeying Him in thankfulness.

We know of a sister saint living in a tent for a short period while she helps out her family who live in a tiny house.  She sent me a picture of her dinner (she calls it 'tea') and I added scriptures to it.  It seemed to fit here so I'm borrowing it for you all to see:-) We also know of several brothers and families who are serving the Lord who have many trials ahead of them but they are looking to the Lord for their strength and rejoicing in what lies ahead.  A man who lost his family is pressing on, a young man living with parents is trying to be set free to be a preacher of the Word, a young couple with several children and one on the way leaving all for Christ, a couple in another country raising their children in the admonition of the Lord (I'm grateful for online translator) and more. We may be scattered but we're not alone, praise God His people are out there.  There's nothing new under the sun, we see there were truly FEW who served the Lord and they were mostly alone. But God has His remnant all over and it's not our business but His.

Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him. (1 Kings 19:18)

We just all do what we can in encouraging one another long distance (just like apostle Paul) to endure this race until we go home. Let us be thankful and grateful for what we have, the work set before us and not end up with quail meat in our teeth.

Let's all examine ourselves and see where we need work in that area.

Brother Jim did a video about first amendment rights for street preachers and I'm sharing it here because maybe you have a husband who is already a preacher or working toward that.  See it HERE.  The most recent issue we had, the two workers of the area lied about there not being any free speech areas. Brother Jim called to verify and found out that they were lying.  Seconds later after they walked away mad, many people stopped to hear the gospel.  Praise God!  If brother Jim would have just left, they would not have heard it nor would the thousands of others for there rest of the day we were there.

Love to you sister saints, keep striving on and I'm here to help you!
