No Fancy Fare or Wear

Good evening sisters in Christ! And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,  Acts 2:46 I love verse how they ate with gladness and singleness of heart. Singleness is like simplicity.  I'm sure their meals weren't fancy like the kings or what we see today in the average household.  No, I'm not here to bash the way anyone cooks, you can cook however you like and do it heartily as unto the Lord :-)  I just share our simple life to encourage others that do so, you're not strange or alone.  In a world where there's food on every corner (here in America anyway), plastered all over the highways on billboards, all over the internet etc, I want to be a refreshing light of simplicity in all ways, even food.   This is a big deal because sisters have to cook for their family and it can consume a lot of time.  Although it is a very enjoyable task (one that I really li

From Much to Meager

Good afternoon to our obedient sisters in Christ! We were traveling through a town when we saw something interesting of which brother Jim said I should use for a post here on the sisters blog.  We notice such things because we are among them all the time and they are some people's homes; many are just for vacation but there are those who also live in them full time.  We see some that cost much: Some that are in the middle: And some that are pretty meager: From much to meager. It makes me think of the life of a person coming from the world with the desires to have much (big house, nice cars, the best food, fashionable clothing, big bank accounts, vacations etc)  and being transformed into a new creation by the blood of Christ... then wanting what is meager in this world, just to get by cuz it's all going to burn one day, anyway. I'm sure you sisters think the same way, wanting for less rather than more.  Being appreciative of the home you have, thankful that we are provided

Keep It Simple

Greetings sisters in Christ, I pray you are all strong in the Lord, leaning on Him for all things.  It seems like that's a daily battle of the flesh, to look to the Lord and not get swept away or weakened.  It's also a mindset adjustment that the Word can do for us if we fill ourselves up on it.   I love the message of Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. [2] He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. [3] He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. [4] Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. [5] Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. [6] Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. It sounds so simple doesn't it? Then

Raisin Cakes and Matzah

Greetings sisters in Christ!   If you were here I would set a place for you to share our lunch and give thanks unto the Lord.  Some day we shall all be with Him if we endure in the faith, obediently until the end.  One thing have I desired of the  Lord , that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the  Lord  all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the  Lord , and to enquire in his temple. Psalm 27:4 In an audio/video I did the other day I mentioned how I'm working on building up our food storage here on the land, now that we finally have time to do so and we're enjoying the disount food store for what they offer as we've been finding some great deals.  (What's been going on in your home?) The last time we were there brother Jim found a big  (BIG) box of super cheap Matzah (some say matzah, some say matzo and it's like a cracker) so we got it.  It's made of wheat and water and it has the texture of a stale cracker.  We, in the US, are

Simple Solutions - Van Dweller Window Coverings

Greetings sisters in Christ, We are thankful for another day and for a bonus, we have sunshine!  All day yesterday during our travels and into last night it was cold and rainy.  In situations like that it reminds you to be thankful for food and raiment and the added blessing of having a van roof over our head with warm blankets.   Praise God for the simple things in life.  And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.  But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:8-9 Speaking of simple things, I wanted to share how brother Jim used his creativity to solve a problem we had with our van.  When we decided to downsize into our cargo van and started costing out how to convert it, we looked at RV windo

Eat This Not That

Greetings to my keeper at home sisters in Christ! Today I want to venture into the territory of foods and how it can take you into a whirlwind of confusion and despair, if you are not careful. Many of you will nod your heads and smile, knowing what I'm talking about but for those of you who are new to the world of the healthy food trap, let me enlighten you. The reason I want to do this is because many people question how, as Christians, we are to eat while living in this fallen world. Let me show you what you will find on the internet... * Eggs - Don't eat them because they contain cholesterol.  If you do eat them then toss out the yolk because that's where it is.  Eat lots of eggs because you need tons of protein, in fact eat them raw, they are better for you. Don't eat raw eggs, they'll kill you.  Don't eat eggs from chickens that aren't free range.  Only organic fed chickens have good eggs.  * Milk - Don't drink it because it has horm
