Gunfights and Angry Cowboys

Image
Greetings Sisters! I pray this day is a quiet and joyful one for you! But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.  For thou,  Lord , wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield. (Psalm 5:11-12) Let them ever shout for joy...those are powerful words.  How often to do we allow the world's troubles to stop us from shouting our joy? Speaking of shouting, I have a witnessing even to share with you. The past several days we have been holding gospel signs in a busy tourist town where thousands of people come from all over the world.  Every evening on a certain corner they section off the street and they put on a mock gun fight skit, replaying enactments from old western stories.  It's vile....they pretend to shoot each other and cause the audience to laugh at such sin.  People from all ages come to watch this an

Going Into the Lion's Den

Greetings sisters! Praise God for the opportunity to shine His light to the world for one more day.  We have arrived in a town that is already pitted against us...we were here 2 years ago standing out with gospel signs and the police were called on us. (We did nothing wrong but proclaim the truth.) We were then harrassed by them during our stay even though we were within our 1st amendment rights.  We chose to return because there are people who come to this town from all over the world and what better way to reach the lost than to stand in the middle of them shining the light of truth.  We have some wonderful testimonies of the truth going out then and we are excited to see what will happen this year.  Any time the word of God is send forth, is a great thing. I've been prepping myself as our travels this year started out later than normal and with everything going on it's sort of set us off what we're used to doing, but that's good, we need to be flexible.  So

God's Creation and Wind River Canyon

Greetings Sisters! Praise the Lord we made it to our nightly destination once again, we are thankful every time we safely make it to where we are heading.   In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (1 Thessalonians 5:18) Tonight we will be camping out at a little city park by a river (for free), then tomorrow we move on to hold gospel signs in a city that is filled with tourists at this time of the year.   Last night we went through Wind River Canyon in Wyoming and took a night of peace and quiet in God's beautiful creation.  We made a 'Married and in the Word' video about it and I'll share it here.  I hope you enjoy it. We are rested, restored and ready for the battles ahead in witnessing the gospel on the streets. I pray you are strong in the Lord, standing boldly in the truth and allowing the Lord to use you to shine His truth. Have a joyous evening. Love in Christ, Sister Deb  The biblical g

Cute Critters, God's Creation and Giving Him Glory

Good afternoon Sisters! I rejoice every time that I get to send encouragement out on the internet, a light in a dark place, a voice in the wilderness.  I hope to bring smiles, love and encouragement to you :-) This post is simply to glorify God in His creation.  We're thankful every time we get to see His handiwork in the creation of animals, birds, creepy crawlie things, nature etc. While we were at the city park camping (free) we saw this squirrel and tossed him a few pieces of bread.  Brother Jim made a video for the grandchildren. Then as we were in McDonalds, (fishing:-), brother Jim saw this grasshopper and made another video for the grandchildren. (And while we were there a man came in to talk to us because he saw our van in the driveway.  He sat down and had a discussion for quite some time and walked away with truth of God's Word.) We decided to cut ourselves loose from the trailer this summer (since we were finished with our deliveries) and foun

He Makes a Way

Greetings sisters! I pray you all are doing well and trusting in our Father for all things. I might have already titled a post like this but it's still true and He does.  Brother Jim just did a teaching on how our Father doesn't allow us to be temped more than we can bear and He also makes a way of escape. (1 Corinthians 10:13) I thought of that verse today and also the passage about our Father parting the Red Sea for the escape of His people from Egypt.   But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.  (Exodus 14:16) We were traveling from one town in Wyoming to another one about 2 hours away and if you know anything about Wyoming there are a lot of wide open spaces with nothing but land and sky.  No houses, no people, no towns for miles and miles.  So we were driving and the further we went, the blacker the sky looked and when I looked it up the interne

In The World But Not Of It

Good afternoon sisters! I pray that this finds you focusing on things above, setting your affections there (Colossians 3:2) As we walk through this world, every single day we have to redirect our focus to the Lord so that we are walking on the narrow path and not slipping onto the wide road.  Brother Jim drew this for another brother who requested it. We see how narrow it is by the rejection of the truth when the gospel goes out.  We pray that those seeds will find fertile ground and someday produce godly fruit to glorify our Father in heaven. We had a nice couple days in a very pretty (free) city park that offers water and showers, with a river running right by it, what a blessing to be able to partake of some quiet beauty. There was much witnessing going on as brother Jim had many opportunities to share the gospel. As we were camped out there I was thinking about how we are not citizens of this world but a remnant of the Lord, doing His work until He ca

Practice What you Preach

Hello Sisters! Let us seek humbleness and meekness that we may honor and glorify our Father in Heaven. The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. (Proverbs 25:9) I want to be the lowly and the last.   When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.  (Proverbs 11:2) And have a meek and humble heart. He must increase, but I must decrease. (James 3:30) As we walk this path the Lord has set before us, we see more trials than ever on the horizon and just today I was telling brother Jim that it was very timely that I did that video yesterday about being victorious in the armor of God because today I surely needed it! In one day we had joy over preaching the word, a false teacher was exposed, the police were called on us by that false teacher who lied (the police said we were just fine and not breaking any laws), joy over a young brother's victories, sadness over a brother in trials, 2 gay baptist men got very angry over t
