Teach The Young Women...To Love Their Husbands

Image
Greetings to our sister saints scattered abroad! Titus 2 instructions for women may seem basic on the outset but are very detailed from within. Titus 2:4-5  That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, [5] To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.  Today I want to focus on the part about loving husbands.  This is just as much a reminder to me as it is instruction or reminder for any of you. Love...is action.  What we saw Jesus do on the cross for us as He did it while we were yet sinners.  If He waited until He loved us in the flesh (remember we were sinning against Him) it would have never happened.  Likewise, we wives, need to follow that example and love our husbands (that's a command) even if they are difficult to live with. God gives us a glimpse into one area of the heart of husbands when we read Colossians... Colossians 3:1...

Love, Lights, Shocks and Blocks

Image
Greetings to all you sisters in Christ, scattered around the world! Let our lights so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify our Father which is in heaven! (Matthew 5:16)   There's always so much going on that sometimes I just don't know what to pick to post here for you sisters.  An update, a witnessing experience, a keeper at home subject etc...all of which, hopefully, is an encouragement in one way or another. Today I thought I'd do a post on love, lights, shocks and blocks.  Maybe with some other things added into it, we'll see as I go:-) Love.  God's Word teaches us that love (agape) is not just a feeling, it's an action.  When it comes to husband and wife there is to be agape love as well as a more close love between to people but for the sake of not teaching theology here, I just wanted to give some examples of that sort of love in a simple manner in our life. The world teaches to show love on certain days, buying things...

Waiting Patiently for Your Husband

Image
Greetings sisters! I want to encourage you in your strength to stand strong in this world regardless of whether the Lord has someone standing with you or not. You are where He wants you to be, today...tomorrow might be different:-) We continuously hear from professed christian men that they don't get on the internet and they want nothing to do with it but yet their wife  (who claim to be a believer) is on it.  There's a big problem with this because the man is paying for the internet that he feels should not be in his home and his wife is not honoring him in that.  Read Ephesians 5 about wives submitting to husbands. Also, we hear from Christian women who claim that their husbands are believers but they are not leading their home biblically.  I would encourage you to study 1 Peter 3 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;   While th...

Decorating our Homes

Good evening sisters! Proverbs 2:1-11 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;    Then shalt thou understand the fear of the  Lord , and find the knowledge of God. For the  Lord  giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.   When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee Speaking of wisdom, we go...

Praise for Hardworking Husbands Who Provide for Their Homes

Image
Greetings sisters! Make a joyful noise unto the  Lord , all ye lands. Serve the  Lord  with gladness: come before his presence with singing.    Know ye that the  Lord  he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the  Lord  is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. (Psalm 100) If we read and obey such scriptures, even when we go through trials, we are lifted up and strengthened.  Amen. Today I want to encourage you sisters who are married (doesn't matter if he's a believer or unbeliever) to praise your husband if he is a hard worker, providing for his family. Brother Jim suggested this letter to you because we are constantly coming across professed believing men who are lazy and not working to provide....

Now That's Love...

Greetings to you sisters, in love! Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee. (Psalm 143:8) Let us be thankful for a kind and loving God and share our lovingkindness with others. I have a funny story for you about love. We were at an onsite job for 2 days and last night we were blessed to find a free camp spot at a city park in a small town.  While we were there brother Jim asked me to give him a hair cut.  Well, I forgot to bring our trimmer that had measurement tools on it that makes a nice even cut and is super easy and fast to do.  What I had was a different trimmer that I had to improvise using a comb for measurement and it was all bearing on my judgement which wasn't too bad until I was almost done. I nipped it a bit close... But guess what?  I told brother Jim and he said 'who cares?'.   (He was so happy to have a hair...
