A Happy Helper

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! I hope your day goes well and you are strong in the lord. Ephesians 3:17-19 We are getting ready to roll down the highway this morning and I wanted to share a good point that a sister brought up.  In regard to wives learning to be more quiet, keepers at home, training themselves to be ready for the ministry that their husband (might) have and we need to remember we were created to be a helper to our husbands. And the  Lord  God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. Genesis 2:18 Sister said ' You know, it's not a bad thing to be a helper, the Holy Spirit is our helper !' I thought that was a great point and illustration of how helpful we are to be.  In this feminized world, we sisters are looked down upon for submitting ourselves to God's command for our role in life which also means we are submitting to our husbands, and being a helper to them instead of demanding our own

Talk With a Sister

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! We are praising the Lord to have spent the weekend with some saints we have not been with in a very long time.  God was glorified and I wanted to share what the sister and I were talking about as it will be encouraging for us both to remember it and hopefully edify you all. In between, I will share some pictures of the beauty that our Father allowed us to partake of for the past two day, before we head into the darkness once again to shine the light of Christ.   We encouraged each other in so many different areas, exposing our weaknesses and sharing our victories.  I'll share some of the topics with you.... * Fear .  Fear of the unknown in the future whether it be our future or where the world is heading in which relates to our future.  We talked about 2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.   We

Pride And Plenty To Living In Parking Lots

Greetings sisters! Brother Jim made an audio and it refers to why we do what we do in the van life... ...for Christ.  I thought it might be edifying to those of you who choose to listen to it. Refuge Retreat

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! We are thankful for this day and safe travels to get to our destination.  We have been hoping for a long time now, to have a retreat at a refuge we know of and praise God it worked out.  We have been here before on our travels, it's free  and the benefit is beauty and peacefulness.  (The highway is right across the lake but we pay no mind to it as the beauty overcomes it.)  This is a long awaited weekend especially for the fact that we get to see some saints that we haven't seen for a long while, can you say sister hug?  (Those are rare indeed and I send a cyber hug to you all.)  I hope you enjoy God's creation. This was the view as we pulled up to our favorite spot. It was dug out when they made the highway and it's spring fed so it stays full. The water is so clear, it's amazing! To God be the glory! Here's a video of it in the evening. As darkness came the lightening storms did as well.   We

The Last Person You'd Expect

Greetings sisters! Praise God for not being partial as we all have the opportunity to come to Him in repentance.  While we were standing out with our signs and brother Jim preaching, I was holding out my hand (with gospel cards in it) to people passing by.  I stand off to the side so that if they want one, they have to walk over and get it, making an effort that shows they really wanted it and not just being guilted into taking it like a lot of street preachers do.  We don't do it to just see how many we can give away, we want people to actually want to take it and read it.   One thing I noticed the past few days (in that very busy tourist town with tons of people walking by) was that the least expected people were the ones to come get a card.    There were people dressed very well to do and those terribly immodest.  Many looked successful and many looked hard core. Some were well polished and some very rough.  What I saw was that the terribly immodest, hard core

God Will Help Us Change Our Affections

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! Praise His holy name, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Alpha and Omega, our Father, the Rock and Protector, He is all in all...infinite, holy and just. I was using those terms when sharing with someone in our earthly family, not long ago.  Brother Jim and I were witnessing to her and her boyfriend for several hours and at one point her and I had some time alone.  I was able to share my testimony and how this God (she knows nothing of until lately) transformed my life.  And brother Jim's.  And could do the same for her and her boyfriend if they were to repent and follow after Jesus.  Then they could lead their children (our grandchildren) in the ways and truth of God and out of the clutches of satan.   She mentioned her love of many things of this world and I shared that God will help us change our affections.  I explained how when one repents that their entire life focus turns from the world and self, to God and His ways, leaving all behind.

Wondrous Wisconsin

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! We rejoice because we had a great day out on the streets holding gospel signs and brother Jim preaching.  As we were leaving, brother Jim preached on the PA speaker as we drove, you can see that here: I'll write more about that tomorrow as tonight is a simple post about some of the Wisconsin beauty we saw,  I have a fondness for the farms as I grew up in the country and small towns. It was a refreshing drive today after being inundated with people and tons of traffic.  We will rest well tonight. Hopefully the pictures and videos bless you with the peacefulness of God's creation. Here's part of a rainbow we saw... And of course some farms... There's a lot of water (lakes, rivers, streams, creeks etc) in Wisconsin  which makes for awesome landscape. It's been a long (fruitful in the Lord) few days in the same busy town and we a

Seeds Planted Today for a Harvest Tomorrow

Greetings to our obedient sisters! We are praising God for the opportunity to serve Him.  How are you going about that in your lives?  Are you seeking ways to bring Him glory?  He, who offered the hope of redemption, is worthy of our every breath praising Him. The other day we were street witnessing at various points in a busy tourist town and at one intersection a little girl (5 or 6 yrs old) in the back seat of a car smiled and waved at me. I did the same in return and she then began reading my sign.  Slowly she mouthed the words  ' New life in Christ ' and right then her eyes lit up and she vigorously waved, smiling as she understood what it said.  (She had a little sister in a car seat beside her that was sucking on her pacifier waving at me also:-)  As she drove off I thought that maybe, this being a potential poignant memory,  many years down the road it might be used as a seed for conviction and hope. Brother Jim captured this for me. To open their eyes, and
