Seeds Planted Today for a Harvest Tomorrow
Greetings to our obedient sisters!
We are praising God for the opportunity to serve Him. How are you going about that in your lives? Are you seeking ways to bring Him glory? He, who offered the hope of redemption, is worthy of our every breath praising Him.
The other day we were street witnessing at various points in a busy tourist town and at one intersection a little girl (5 or 6 yrs old) in the back seat of a car smiled and waved at me. I did the same in return and she then began reading my sign. Slowly she mouthed the words 'New life in Christ' and right then her eyes lit up and she vigorously waved, smiling as she understood what it said. (She had a little sister in a car seat beside her that was sucking on her pacifier waving at me also:-) As she drove off I thought that maybe, this being a potential poignant memory, many years down the road it might be used as a seed for conviction and hope.
To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
Acts 26:18
That's what I saw in that little girl, a light coming on when she understood that the sign I was holding was about Christ. It was refreshing to see that unadulterated joy coming from her bright smile when she read that and I pray God plant that memory deep inside her that someday she can know there is new life in Christ... and go seeking.
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:13
That's what little children do, they open their hearts wide up for anything you teach them and it becomes planted inside, whether it be good or bad. We pray that we might be planting the good that may overtake the bad and produce a transformed life through the gospel.
Sadly though, I realize that our presence, with the truth of God's word, is more of a condemnation, a testimony against those who are not in Christ (Matthew 10:18) Brother Jim wrote a post about the experiences, pertaining to this that we've had as of late, in case you're interested:

We can't sit there very long with that thought lest it cripple us and we be of no use to the kingdom of God so instead, I focus on such things as that little girl in the back of the car, the little boy who said 'God bless you' to us, the tattooed, smoking man bringing us some water and thanking brother Jim for preaching, the mentally disabled man who said 'That happened to me!' when Jim shared how one must be born again, the Amish man who asked 'how do you become born again?', a young man admitting he was convicted about leaving his idols to serve the Lord and many other such wondrous meetings that would have never happened if we didn't endure through all the rejection, opposition and hatred. Remember that sisters when you get tired and worn down, we must endure through this world, shining His light and not grow dim in doing so as we never know who we might affect with the life saving truth.
It's about life and death, literally. Plant those seeds today that there might be a harvest tomorrow.
To God be the glory of our obedient life lived for Him and let the world see the strength of the Father through us in our lives.
March on sisters.
Blessings and peace,
Sister Deb
