Saving Money Selling Books

Image
Greetings Sisters! I just wanted to do a quick post to show you a way to make a little money that you may not know about. I have done this for the past several years whenever I was weeding out my (way too large-that I have repented of) cookbook selection and have made some money doing so instead of just sending them back to the resale shop. Back when I was gathering cookbooks, homesteading books etc, I only bought them used.  Then when I learned what I wanted and had no need for them any longer I would sell them to an online used bookstore.  They don't normally give you much back for them but every once in a while I had a book that was in high demand. What you do is find a website (there are many) that offer to buy books.  You type in the ISBN number and they will let you know if they are buying it and for how much.  Once you are finished you submit it and they will send you a packing list and shipping label via email to print out and send the books to them at no charge to

Birds and Bible Study

Image
Good morning sisters! I wonder if you are having a rainy morning like we are?  Living in our van that's all metal, we can clearly hear the rain on the roof but we like that.  Seems as if the weather will be wet for the next week or so but we're rejoicing that most of the outside work is done here at our WI home so this week will be inside work.  Brother Jim has a super charged motivation going on and has accomplished more in 2 weeks than we thought so we might be heading out sooner?...but we shall see. We are still being thankful and content no matter how things go on a daily basis because we don't know if tomorrow will be here for either of us and we don't want to waste today thinking about what's not here yet.  One day at a time in thankfulness, being content and praising God. I received this from a sister in another country, a bible study, homeschooling teaching for their children. We rejoice knowing young children are being raised in the ways of the Lo

Saving Money Part 3 Sales and Discounts

Image
Good evening sisters! I hope you had a victorious day in the Lord! But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:57) I made another video on how we save money through sales and discounts.   Nothing earth shattering, just some simple ways we do it. Being a keeper at home is a job with many different aspects to it so it's never boring.  Saving money is a job itself and if you don't think it adds up, keep a journal of every savings you made, OR if you were tempted to buy something more expensive and chose the least expensive one (or not at all)  log that as well.  It will encourage you to do more and look for creative ways to save. Have a joyous day tomorrow! Love in Christ, Sister Deb The biblical gospel... https://www.dontperish.com/the-gospel.html

Image Idolatry

Image
Good morning sisters! We have a beautiful sunny day today, the snow storm that was supposed to come yesterday did not so we are rejoicing even more because we thought it would set us behind on our work here. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7) We remind ourselves to be content no matter what the situation that way God is glorified and not our flesh in getting what we want all the time which makes for selfism.  Selfism is what satan had by wanting to be God, to be in charge, to be his own God...I want nothing to do with that! So a couple days ago I made a video inside our van to show you our simple life that isn't all perfect and pretty (like maybe my womanly flesh would like) but functionable and practical.  It killed some of my image idolat

Ever Have One of These Thoughts?

Image
Hello sisters, This is just a quick post to share a story about a brother in the Lord who was not fully walking in the ways of the Lord but just recently he has been stripped from all things in his life...let me list some of them for you: He just left a cult. His wife stayed in the cult and is filing for divorce. His mother died in the midst of all this. He lost his job. This man threw himself at the foot of the cross and repented and is a new man in Christ serving the Lord with a ferver and an urgency to redeem the time.  (Ephesians 5) Well this brother in the Lord just got a chromebook so that he can start a new blog, preaching the word of God and let's just say that he's had some 'fun' trying to manipulate it and learn the new programs. I have been able to help him ( in the administrative part) long distance the best I can, but in the meantime he's had a lot of frustrating times yet he presses through! So brother Jim drew this picture for him:

Homemade Memory Game

Image
Hello Sisters! Praise God for being able to encourage one another.  We have had a full day of 'one anothering' today with saints around the world.  We rejoice that we are able to help each other strive on in the things of God. I received an email from a sister showing how they are teaching their little girl English words by making a homemade memory game. For you sisters who are mothers in homeschooling, it's a nice idea and if you have good and godly activities that you are doing with your children, feel free to share and I'd be happy to post it for all to be edified from. We rejoice to know there are children being trained up in the ways of the Lord and we rejoice to be able to be even a small part of it so thank you for sharing with us older generation:-) Have a joyous evening sisters. House Camping...An Unique Idea For Families

Image
Greetings Sisters! As the Lord makes time for me to post here I shall fill up the cyberspace with good and godly things!  Amen! I wanted to share a unique idea that we were told about from a believing family in Christ that lives in Bulgaria.  The father, mother and young daughter are striving in obedience to God's Word in a very big, worldly city and although they love God's creation and the beauty of nature, they cannot get out into the countryside very often...so they made their own camping trip right in their living room. They set up the tent and played sounds of nature on the computer as they enjoyed the evening camping together:-) Brother Jim drew this picture for them. (It says 'Praise God'.  The arrow points to a doll and the tent says 'house tent'.) The mother sewed a sleeping bag for the little doll too! I wanted to share this with you in case you never thought of doing something like that. Know that you are not alone, there are

Matthew 6:26 and Psalm 23 God's Creation

Image
Hello Sisters! I pray your day is well and you are standing strong! We saw some geese while taking our walk this afternoon and it made us think of Matthew 6:26. We also sat out last night by the fire  and cooked shishkabobs: Yum, healthy simple food and a beautiful evening.  We are blessed.  The frogs were really singing and the evening was very calm so I captured it in a video. Hope you enjoy it. I thought you might enjoy that. Have a peaceful evening. Love in Christ, Sister Deb The biblical gospel. https://www.dontperish.com/the-gospel.html

Love is Long Suffering

Image
Good evening sisters! We have had such a busy day, praise the Lord, both in physical work and ministry!  Tonight, right before bed brother Jim drew this picture for me. I laughed pretty hard because every single night we go through that.  I pull out our tooth brushes from our velcro department (so that when we are driving they don't fall out) and he asks 'Which one is mine, the blue one?"   Every. Single. Night.   Lol, yup and I say  Every.Single.Night...."the blue one". Long suffering is love.   It's when you really want to say things like "I already told you a hundred times', or 'I told you so'  or 'don't you ever listen to me?'  Yes, love is long suffering, it's a choice, not a feeling because if it was feelings we Christians would end up like the world in all sorts of troubles following after the flesh. It's guarding your words and taking every thought captive for Christ (2 Corinthians 10

A Glimpse Into Our Van Life

Image
Greetings dear sisters, We were blessed with a beautiful, cool breezy spring day. Brother Jim got a LOT done outside and we're so excited that things are going well.   I thought maybe you want to see some 'real us', a glimpse into our van life and in it I kill a little bit of my 'image idolatry' in which I said I was going to video on that today but ran out of time.  That will come, Lord willing, soon.  In the mean time check out how we are living right now:-) It's cozy for sure!  Brother Jim said it's pretty awesome because it's like camping every night!  It takes some getting used to and rearranging quite a bit until you find what works for you but I think we're doing really well so far, not too many changes needed. Hello everyone:-) But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.  (1 Timothy

Confession of Needing to be Patient

Image
Greetings, to our sisters in Christ! Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 1:3-4) I pray you are all doing well in the Lord, standing strong against the evil one (1 Peter 5:8).   It's a beautiful spring day today but tomorrow they call for a dumping of snow so we're getting ready for it...being prepared is also what a Christian must do in their spiritual life.  I am constantly reminding myself that and share a video I made of being reminded to be patient in times that can be a bit trying. There are many areas in our life we must be patient but the most important is the spiritual aspect, reminding ourselves that we are here on this earth for the purpose of the Lord and our time of redemption is coming if we are content and waiting patiently for it. May is almost here and we are thinking we might need a

Encouragement to Mothers from A Mother

Image
Hello sisters! Let us rejoice in this day regardless of our trials and tribulations as our Lord and Savior has gone to prepare a place for us... In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. (John 14:2) We are only here in this flesh but for a short time compared to eternity!   For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time  are  not worthy  to be compared  with the glory which shall be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18) Today I wanted to share some encouragement with you sisters that have young children at home and this comes from another sister who has 3 young children with one on the way very soon!  She sent this as an encouragement to a specific sister we know but we decided to post it here for all sisters to be encouraged.  She gave me permission to do some minor adjustments in wording to fit everyone. Mothers need to know this - that it’s the world system that trains our brains as
