The Gospel Message in a New Year

Greetings sisters in Christ, As the world celebrates a new year 2020, brother Jim and I treat each day the same, glorifying God in each one.  I simply want to share the gospel with you.  The path in belief to repentance in which you receive a new heart, mind and life and then obey until the end.  This is copied from our dontperish.com website. Gospel means GOOD NEWS and followers of Christ are commanded to GO and proclaim it to all, so that is what we are striving to do for God's glory at dontperish.com But before we tell you the good news you must know the  bad news  first so you can appreciate the gospel and know what is at stake! The Bible says,  "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God"  ( Romans 3:23 ).   It also says,   " And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things  are  naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we  must give  account." ( Hebrews 4:13 ).    You see, sin separates us from God and it will lead one to hell no

Hand Sewing and Humbleness

Image
Good day sisters! Today I want to share a humbling Titus 2 story to encourage you:-) Brother Jim decided that he wanted extra long shirts to make them a more tunic length for extra coverage (biblically) and because we cannot find such things while traveling, (it's even hard to find them on the internet) I decided to take things into my own hands...literally! He wears basically the same kind of shirt and has several of them so I took one and cut off several inches from the bottom and hand sewed it to the bottom of another shirt.  It's not hard to do but takes quite a while and it looks hand sewn but that's one of the things I love about brother Jim.  HE DOESN'T CARE!  It could have a crooked seams and be uneven between the front and back (just like the shirt I did :-) and he's just thankful to have it!  Just seeing his attitude in such menial things has helped me get over myself in many areas that don't matter!   Hand sewing this shirt (and I will do

Waiting Patiently for Your Husband

Image
Greetings sisters! I want to encourage you in your strength to stand strong in this world regardless of whether the Lord has someone standing with you or not. You are where He wants you to be, today...tomorrow might be different:-) We continuously hear from professed christian men that they don't get on the internet and they want nothing to do with it but yet their wife  (who claim to be a believer) is on it.  There's a big problem with this because the man is paying for the internet that he feels should not be in his home and his wife is not honoring him in that.  Read Ephesians 5 about wives submitting to husbands. Also, we hear from Christian women who claim that their husbands are believers but they are not leading their home biblically.  I would encourage you to study 1 Peter 3 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;   While they behold your c

A Virtuous Woman Pressing On

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! I hope you are all doing well today and striving to be that virtuous woman! I encourage you not to examine yourself based on your feelings but by scripture.  When I look at myself through my flesh, I'm a failure but if I compare myself to the what the scriptures say...I'm victorious in many ways and striving to be in all the rest that I fall short.  This is awesome because God's word tells us not to compare ourselves one to another For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.  But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you. 2 Corinthians 10:12-13 Striving every day is victory because we are pressing on toward the mark. I press toward the mark for t

What A Waste!

Image
Greetings Sisters in Christ! I pray you are standing strong and have centered yourself on the Lord this morning when you woke up.   And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. Isaiah 30:21 I wasted too many days (years) of my life, living it for myself and now that I am in Christ, I try not to waste any more days and instead I strive to honor and glorify Him in each one He gives me. The post title here is 'What a Waste!'  I know I've been talking about money and food lately but being a keeper at home, it's appropriate and it's something that brother Jim said I should write about...waste.  The culture we are in (here in America anyway) is one of waste because it's a self serving culture of feeding the flesh and not thinking past the moment of self satisfaction. While we are out here on the road, sharing the gospel on the streets, we also go to what w

The Marketplace and Fishing

Greetings sisters, This post is simply an explanation of what I will call 'the marketplace'.  I'm going to use this post to explain what I  mean (in future posts) when I talk bout us going into the marketplace and fishing... it will save me from repeating myself in each future post that I reference it in. When I say we went to the 'marketplace', what I'm referring to is a public place where we see many people gathering.  Oftentimes the marketplace we go to are popular fast food restaurants and we will get a cup of coffee, set the bible on the table with some gospel tracts and work on ministry online.  This often brings people over to us to ask and talk about the things of God.  We call this 'Fishing' because Jesus made His disciples fishers of men. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.   And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. Matthew 4:19:20 We have been blessed to give the gospel to MANY peop

Ramen Noodles Won't Kill You!

Image
Good evening sisters! I just wanted to make a quick post and share some good news with you... Ramen Noodles Won't Kill You! Some of you might not understand so I'll explain.  In America, the foodie people will do everything they can to get you to stop eating pasta, especially ramen noodles, claiming that they are unhealthy and lead to illness. (Ramen noodles are very inexpensive and quick to cook.  They are considered 'poor people's food.) I used to follow all that hype, thinking that high fiber and raw foods were what would keep people from illness but I was wrong because it was part of the cause of my problems (for me anyway.)  Today we eat plain old pasta, even Ramen noodles, without guilt and are just fine. Let me share an example of what I just bought by stacking coupons... 2 Ramen noodle bowls 2 Pre-cooked rice packagaes 1 Can of chicken and wild rice soup 2 Bananas Total $7.34 and I paid $1.49 There are many tutorials on the web about cou

Cults, Cops and Confidence in our Father

Good afternoon sisters! We are thanking the Lord that we made it to our destination for the next period of time!   Normally when we get into a town we check out our night parking spot right away and while we were doing that we saw a man by a truck with a small cargo trailer that looked like he was living in it.  As we were passing by him, he hollered out and came over to talk...about the things of God.  He had a rather strange story and he has some obvious unbiblical issues but Lord willing there may be some conversation later this evening if we run into them again. For this post I wanted to share what we've been doing the past few days and how God prepared me for a trip.  The last place we were was by the ocean coast and I did my research that I always do, looking for places that might offer opportunities for street witnessing, then I show brother Jim what I found and he figures out what might work.  I saw that we were about a half hour from the ocean front and thought it woul
