God Owns Us (The sin of pride)

Image
Good evening to my striving sister saints whom I love in the Lord! I hope you are all striving on and not growing weary.  We sisters were talking about how our days can have some of the same things in it and we don't want to grow weary of them because they are all glorifying to God.  I also shared that I love hearing about my sisters doing what God created them to do, not striving for worldly pursuits and not being rebellious feminists like I used to be.  It brings me great joy when I  receive a picture of a sisters dish washing or clothes hanging on the line or hear about how a sewing or gardening project is coming along.  Those good works are very important along with our walk in Christ.  I'm thankful for my sisters who have come out of the world and stripped themselves of all pride and vanity as well.  I made an audio about how God owns us and it stemmed from seeing the pride of men.  I shared this with the sisters on the last call and thought it would be edifying to those

Just My Pride

Greetings sisters in Christ, Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.  Proverbs 16:18  The other day we were in our van getting ready to go out on the street witnessing when I looked out the window I saw a man drive a car up to the side of a building.  He jumped out, went into the building  and soon after I saw him helping a woman in a walker, going toward the car, when all of a sudden she fell.  He bent over to help her and I couldn't see them on the other side of the vehicle, so  I told brother Jim and we both got out to help.  Apparently her leg went out from under her and after letting her sit there for a few minutes to make sure she was ready to get up, we helped her up and walked her to the vehicle.  I offered to help her get in the seat but she thanked me and said she could do it.  I asked her if she hurt anything and she said ' Just my pride .'  Brother Jim gave the man a gospel card and off they went. Just my pride.   Pride, that wicked

It's Become a Pride Thing

Greetings sisters in Christ! I'm sure you all have your struggles in the area of pride and if you've been walking any amount of time, you've already killed a good majority of it and are working on conquering the rest.  Today I'm going to share about how we can have pride rise up that we didn't even know was lurking in darkness of our flesh and how we can either pluck it out or overpower it. We bought some sun shades for the windows of our van, you know the kind you fold out and flip the visor down and it keeps the sun from shining in the windows or people from peeking in (if you live in your vehicle like we do.)  Well, these are not the folding kind, they are the ones that are a big rectangle and if you are blessed to have the skill, you can fold them down into a circle and put them away.  When we first got them, I'd figured out out and it was sort of fun, but the next day I couldn't fold but only one.  The other 3 were beginning to make me mad and after

Beware of Bling (Pride and Vanity)

Greetings sisters! How many of you have heard the word 'bling'?  It's a common slang word, used by the world to describe flashy jewelry or accessories.  For example, check out this truck all decked out with flashy accessories...bling. It's clear to see this truck has been decorated to enhance and show it off. A regular truck can be a great accessory for a farm, a business or for the average person who hauls a lot of large items, but when you add all this bling to it, it becomes something else.  The world will look and say " Wow, that's awesome! "  or  " Wow that guy is filled with pride ." The culture we are currently in right now as we travel, has a lot of these such trucks and cars all decked out in their bling to make a statement that shows the heart of the owner.  Let's look at us Christian sisters and how we show ourselves to the world.  God's Word teaches that godly women are to cover and dress in a shamefaced manner wi
