Being Thankful and Content in our Calling

Greetings sisters in Christ!

Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah, and rejoice before him.
A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.
God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.
O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:
The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.
Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor.
The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.
Kings of armies did flee apace: and she that tarried at home divided the spoil.
Though ye have lien among the pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold.
When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it was white as snow in Salmon.
The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan; an high hill as the hill of Bashan.
Why leap ye, ye high hills? this is the hill which God desireth to dwell in; yea, the Lord will dwell in it for ever.
The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.
Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the Lord God might dwell among them.
Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.

Psalm 68:4-19

One day a while back, brother Jim was doing something in the van so I took a walk into the garden section of the store and saw all these beautiful flowers.

They also had a section of vegetable plants and as I wandered through the beauty of the flowers and the wonder of how God created plants to bear food for us, I reminisced about the gardening I used to do.

It hurt a little to think that I may never be able to do that again, but it only lasted a few moments and it was gone, being replaced by what God has put on our hearts...to go.

Go into the world...

And preach of what Christ has done.

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
Matthew 10:16

God will use all of us sisters but not all in the same way.  My calling is not yours and yours is not mine.  You will do things I will never do and I will do things you won't.   To each of us He gives a measure of faith...

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Romans 12:1-3

God may have called you to be the shining light in your home to an unbelieving man.  Or to be single and a light in your town.  Or to be a mother of one, or many precious children.  Or to be the wife of a godly man.  We all have our own calling and we must be thankful and content where God has called us, giving thanks for what He has done through His Son on the cross, making a way for us if we endure, faithfully striving in obedience in His Word.

Amen.

Have a glorious day in the Lord!

Love in Christ,
Sister Deb
