From Bad to Biblical - A Story about a Family Striving to Clean Up Their House

Hello Sisters!
I hope you are well today and looking forward to spring time?  I guess that all depends on where you live though!  We see the squirrels and birds chaising each other around so it won't be long and there will be baby critters in the woods again:-)

I'm excited to share a story with you about a family in another country that has been changed by the blood of Christ through their faith they have repented and are born again and are striving on in obedience. They live in a city of 1 million people and they know of not one other holy set apart believer there...but praise God they found our website and we can encourage them. They have a little girl who they homeschool (praise God because public schools are not for God's children) and in this homeschooling they are finding a lot of unbiblical issues to deal with as well as every day life.  Of course we know this life will bring many trials but learning how to cope with them and do the best we can while we are still here on the earth is what we must try to do.  My husband, brother Jim, is discipling the man and trying to help him learn how to lead his home and avoid the pitfalls that satan uses in our flesh and one such area is in the things of children.

This man, while on video talk with brother Jim, reached up and pulled down a jigsaw puzzle that had immodest and uncovered women on the photo.  He and Jim discussed how that would be confusing to a young girl learning how to become a godly woman as well as approving of the immodesty by using it.  He then reached over and picked up a few little people that his daughter has to play with.  He showed us and said they were unbiblical and should they throw them out but Jim said 'no, why don't you have your wife and daughter make clothing for them.'

So he did!  He also mentioned to brother Jim that most of the books for children, even the homeschool books have unbiblical people in them so Jim said he should either color them in proper clothing or draw, cut out and glue paper clothes and headcoverings on them.

Instead of tossing everything, he is learning how to overcome and still be able to cope and get along in this sinful world.  He's learning to overcome in this world instead of being brought down by defeat.

Now, that can't happen in every area because some things are just unredeemable and not of God but when you can do something to change from bad to biblical, it becomes a learning lesson for everyone in the house and a wonderful memory for little ones to remember how they helped transform what they had into something good.  (This man said his daughter is excited to be doing this.  He also shared with us that she was out on the balcony proclaiming 'praise God'.  From the mouths of babes:-)  That reminds me of the time our grandson was about 3 and after he had just visited us and we were teaching him the things of God, he was in Walmart with his other grand parents who are not believers, and he was shouting 'Repent and believe the gospel'.  Needless to say they were not pleased, but our Father in Heaven was glorified.  The simplicity of a child can go a long way, the faith of a young one...how blessed.

Keep that in mind as you raise your children (or grandchildren) that they are simple and can adapt to what they are taught.  Do not give up the good fight, you need to stand strong against the wiles of satan and be an example to the little ones who are counting on you to lead them.

Hopefully this has brought a smile to your face and an encouragement to your countenance.

Have a joyous day!
God be praised!
