Beautiful Night Sounds and Love
Greetings Sisters!
I pray this night brings you peace and that you will be energized for what the Lord will have for you tomorrow!
As we were settling in for the evening I was listening to the frogs and looking at the moon thinking how peaceful and beautiful the sounds and scenery were and made a little video...
We are blessed with tranquility here and although we appreciate it, we are ready for what's coming up ahead of us once we are gone from this area. It's all about the glory of the Lord and in this dark world we look forward to shining His light even more.
We have to run errands tomorrow for a good portion of the day so I'm looking forward to who the Lord might bring into our life to witness to. We will also be hitting a thrift store and potentially a dent and bent that we haven't been to in a while. ( I like looking for stock up items for the road; dry goods that are light weight, quick to cook but healthy.) It's also a pretty drive by a nice lake, we haven't been this way in a while so we're looking forward to the break in work to do our running for supplies to finish off our projects.
We've been talking about love of the brethren lately and how lacking it is in people who claim Christ.

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:34-35
Love is a decision, about giving, not about feelings and how someone makes you feel. God's Word says that we are to love (Titus 2) and respect (1 Peter 3) our husbands and they go hand in hand with each other actually. Sadly people forget that we are to prefer others above ourselves (Romans 12:10) and selfishness enters in which turns to bitterness. Our love should be something that is seen, not just lip service and that goes for whoever we are sharing that with, husbands, children, brothers and sisters in Christ etc. Sadly we see so very little in the 'professed' body of Christ and oftentimes I see brother Jim entreating brothers to learn this in God's Word but they would rather go off and do their own thing. This is sinful. The men are to come together and reason in the word, the women are to be the keepers at home and put themselves under the spiritual male authority of who God has put into their lives and if there is none than He is it.
Love also is when we obey God's Word because Jesus said in John 14:15, if we love Him we keep His commands. This goes for all scriptures, not just the ones we pick to do. There are many commands specifically for women that must be obeyed from headcovering to dress, obedience to authority, keeping the home and many character traits as well (shamefaced, meek and quiet spirit etc).
Let us keep this in our minds as we go about our daily lives that love is not about us, it's about who we are dealing with and how we deal with them. Jesus showed love to those who hated Him, can we not do the same? Love those who love you and those who don't.
I leave you with this verse:
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. James 1:12
Have a joyous evening sisters.
Love in Christ,
Sister Deb
