Keeper of the (Rolling) Home

Greetings to my keeper at home, godly sisters!

To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. Titus 2:5

(In my case I have a rolling home lol :-)

I want to encourage you sisters to take a moment to realize what a grand calling this is, being the keeper at home.  It's not just saying women should 'stay' home like most people emphasize, it is much more than that.  A godly woman is to be a strong fortress in her home through the word of God, not becoming like we see in 1 Timothy 3:6-7

For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

* She is to be the gate keeper and not allow any sin to enter in and infect her home.  (If she has an unbelieving husband than she does the best she can in what affects her.)

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22

* She is to keep it clean, organized and managing it efficiently in a way that she can handle without setting unobtainable expectations and frustration on herself.
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

* She is to keep a tight reign on the expenses that she's responsible for; being frugal and a good steward of the resources that the Lord has entrusted to her.

Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.  1 Corinthians 4:2

* She is to keep her family healthy by cooking nutritious foods that she either harvests from her garden or gathers reasonably priced products from the store.

She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.  Proverbs 31:14

* She is to keep the joyfulness in the home through her own actions and conversations, winning the disobedient husband without a word (1 Peter 3) and being an example of peace and joy to her children and those in her life.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:27

* She is to keep her heart home, not be lusting after what's out in the world or other people's lives.

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23

Being a keeper at home is a tall order for a godly woman and one that she should not take lightly, yet not let it weigh on her heavily as we are to be more like Mary than Martha.

But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. Luke 10:40-42

I send you love, my keeper of the home sisters.

Have a joyous day.

Love in Christ,
Sister Deb
