Dinner on the Road

Greetings Sisters!

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

We are rejoicing for each day and being patient with every schedule change that we encounter because it seems like almost every day something changes but we are conditioned to just go with it!

Speaking of 'going with it', I thought I'd share a quick story about a brother in the Lord who is learning about this changing life as well.

He keeps in contact with us every day...

But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. Hebrews 3:13

...we see him shedding his old flesh and learning to live a simple life on the road as a trucker. Here's an example of him learning how to improvise while on the move and make the best of all situations.

He had a delivery to do out in the country and after getting there too late to unload and head to his next destination, he was told he could camp out in a big gravel lot until the morning.

So he hooked up his electric oven to an extension cord and cooked his dinner outside, in the gravel :-)

He set up his table as the step of his truck...

...and enjoyed his dinner while he fellowshipped with us on the phone.

YUM!

He was thankful and praising God!

It's so refreshing to hear the praises and thanksgiving to the Lord for simple things as opposed to all the complaining of the world.  It's sad as the unregenerate are caught up in satisfying the lusts of the flesh, causing themselves to be deeper and deeper in the net of deception, so we, as born again believers, are here to shine the light of truth and show the world that our God has overcome.....

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? 1 John 5:4-5

That there is hope...

Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord. Psalm 31:24

And God offers the gift of eternal life...

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 1 John 2:17

It's easy to get caught up in the flesh when things don't go right, when we're stretched outside of our comfort zone, when things don't line up just the way we thought but if we don't put up those expectations in the first place and are simply thankful for all things....

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ
Ephesians 5:20

Then we have no need to suffer in our flesh and instead we can be victorious....

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:57

Amen.

Have a joyous evening sisters!

Love in Christ,
Sister Deb
