A Time of Refreshing

Greetings sisters!

Acts 3:19
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord

Today we stopped for short a time of refreshing at a lake that we really enjoy.  It's along the highway, in fact you can see and hear the traffic roaring by but yet we have this peaceful spot separated from it.  Makes me think of being the peculiar Christians that we are being in the world but not a part of it.

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light (1 Peter 2:9)

It's always worked out to where there's either no one there or they are way down at the other end.  There are several camp spots along the gravel road, free :-) and with all the fish you want to look at, swimming up by the shore.  We love to sit and take a refreshing break.

After a while we moved on down the road heading west.  Here's an interesting rock formation, I think they call it a chimney rock and we sure like the wide open skies; what a big universe and an awesome God to create it.

Praise the Lord we have had safe travels so far.  We did have one close call with a young driver in training who ran their vehicle right close to ours as she was passing on the interstate.  Her mother was frantically coaching her and we're thankful she was able to get control and keep going.  Another close call was when we crested a hill and came face to face with a motorcycle trying to pass a large motorhome.

It reminds a person how short the life can be and how important every single minute is.  We need to constantly remind ourselves to redeem the time...

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. (Ephesians 5:15-16)
This walk can be rough sometimes and we need to make a time of refreshing in the Lord, just as Jesus went into the wilderness.  Contrary to what the world does, we don't drive around just looking at nature and seeing sights, our life is spent being in the world to preach the gospel but we do take the opportunity for a refreshing break when we come across it.  I encourage you all to do the same.

Have a joyous day and be ready for what tomorrow brings.

Love in Christ,
Sister Deb
