Beautiful Lightning Storm and Peace of the Lord

Greetings Sisters!

Today I bring this verse to you.

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:21-23)
Test all things sisters, especially your flesh to see if it is deceiving you. I know there are times I cannot see clearly because my flesh is in the way but the Spirit fights through for me and when I follow that instead of my flesh, the fight is won.  Praise God for that!

For instance, we've had a lot going the past several months and there were times I allowed my flesh (mind) to have it's way and it began to deceive me into resting in my own strength.  What that does is make you tired and feel weak.  Then it magnifies the issues into something way bigger than you.  But if we test our flesh (thoughts) and see if they are focused properly, it will lead us to the prompting of the Holy Spirit in trusting in the Lord.  He is all, the beginning and the end, the Alpha and the Omega.  How can we forget that?  The flesh.  Then satan gets ahold of it in one tiny area and over time gets a foothold and runs with it.
But we must test the flesh against the Word and cast it down:

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;  And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. (2 Corinthians 3:10-6)

Oftentimes people are focused on testing externally, what comes at them from the world or other people and it's easy to overlook our own flesh that can be deceiving us.  It's a great way satan can steal our peace and lead us astray, only if we allow him to though.

I'm thankful for that peace.  I've struggled with my flesh to let go of all that's behind and have those new mercies every morning (Lamentationa 3) and to walk in that peace that our Savior has promised is there for us to partake of.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27)

That peace comes by trusting in the Lord, with all that you are.  Not holding back in your flesh, not allowing yourself to count on yourself, but doing all things for the Lord in obedience, with a regenerated heart and He will direct your path if you allow Him.

It's a beautiful thing...that peace.  One that we will go to our grave fighting our flesh for and then some day we will be in the land of forever peace with our Father.

Now is a good time to put this video that brother Jim made last night.  A lightning storm we saw while traveling through Nebraska.

Now that's peaceful :-)

We see people all the time, being deceived by their flesh.  Outsiders can see that fight going on more clearly than the one in the battle and we try to help but oftentimes the person ends up relying on themselves and their ways and not what the Lord would have them do.

Eve allowed her flesh to be deceived through satan in the garden.  Her flesh longed for what she could not have and all satan did was tickle that flesh and that's all it took.  What happened after? She then involved her husband who hearkened to the voice of his wife.  (Genesis 3)

We continue to see an increasing number of women running around on the internet for spiritual connection with others, not being content or at peace where the Lord has them.  This is sinful.  God has put protective commands in place for women and they need to obey them not only for their protection but for His glory.  It is  sinful for a woman to be looking for theology on the internet when they have the Comforter, the Holy Spirit to teach them. I can GUARANTEE sisters, that if you stay home, off the internet and only get your theology through the bible and the Holy Spirit,  you WILL grow in the Lord to be an obedient, godly woman and you will not be deceived.   But instead, this is what we see on a daily basis...

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. (2 Timothy 3:5-7)

Women do it to themselves and there is no excuse because if a godly woman was content with where the Lord has called her, she would live a quiet, humble, shamefaced, obedient life to the Lord, content and joyful that her bridegroom awaits her arrival and in the meantime the Comforter has been sent to her.

Do you realize something?  The Comforter was sent to comfort.  But yet women are not content with just the Holy Spirit.  Women want the comfort of their own flesh in charge, the comfort of other people, the comfort of finding the theology that fits the lust of their flesh etc.

What this shows us is that what God offers is not enough.

That's shameful.

In this age of deception I encourage sisters to stay home, protect yourself from being deceived by not allowing anyone in.  Stop looking out the window wondering what else is out there, stop looking around on the internet thinking maybe this ministry or that ministry could comfort you and give you what your flesh wants.

God promises that HE is enough and if you don't believe that and live that out, then you are essentially calling Him a liar.

Read this verse carefully:

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.  (Philippians 4:19)

It says ALL YOUR NEED.  That includes peace, comfort, joy, strength, wisdom etc.   If your flesh says 'I can't do this on my own.'  Then God is a liar.  Test that flesh to God's Word then cast it down and beat it into submission.

Colossians 2:10 says we are complete in Him.

Human nature is to latch on to one another, resting and trusting in the fleshly feelings of being together but I'm warning you sisters...you're heading into dangerous territory.  Satan is having a field day with all the men and women we see trying to find someone by which to walk this walk with and it's causing a lot of destruction and shipwrecked faith.

We must get it through our head that God is enough.  If we were to be alone on a desert island, God is enough.  If you live in the middle of New York city and you are the only born again believer you know, God is enough.

See the power of God in this:  A worldly carnal woman who is born again, her life is totally transformed in every way and she becomes an obedient, peaceful women living her life content with just her and the Lord.  The world looks upon this and sees a simple woman, strong enough to stand on her own without leaning on others.  She is content and faithfully serves and follows our Savior as she grows old and then one day the Lord takes her home.

Then see the destruction of this scenario.  The same woman heeds the calling of God, is transformed, walks in truth and holiness and she has the joy of the Lord. She lives this way for a while until she allows her flesh to deceive her into thinking she needs other people.  That she needs to be looking for others, to be looking for other truth, to be fulfilling the lust of her flesh because what God has given her is not enough.  She goes 'church' hopping, she's out on the internet reading ministries writings, she's reaching out to this one and that one.  Asking a question here and there, and her flesh helps her find answers that justify compromise to have people around her.  Her strength is now some of her feminism that she's practicing and also the people she is now involved in.  She dies with people around her but not the truth of God.

We know of sisters who are edified with this sisters blog, learning theology from only the scriptures from the Holy Spirit, living their lives right where they are in a meek and quiet manner, peacefully giving their life to the Lord, not the pursuit what they don't have.

Be at peace in the life God has called you and look to the Comforter to help you, not people.  If you live the rest of your life alone, praise God that you can serve Him with every aspect of your being, as that's exactly what He wants and quite possibly why you are in that life!

This life has many trials but our Father has given us EVERYTHING we need, let's not go looking for more.  If He wants us to have something / someone in our life, HE will bring it.

Our Father gives us this...

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17)

If you don't believe that and live it, I encourage you to repent.  Live your life, for the Lord and be content and peaceful.

Have a joyous rest of the day.

Love in Christ,
Sister Deb
