Ex Homeless Offering Us Help
Greetings sisters!
I'm continuously amazed at the timing and the course of our path, that is of the Father.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:6)
Just this morning I finished an article about how Jesus came for the lowly, you can read it here if you want.

And then later on today an occurrence happened that coincides with that article and I wanted to share it with you.
In the article I talked about how the 'professed' Christians snub us but the lowly and humble are the ones that come to ask us about the things of God. Jesus said this about His disciples:
Love in Christ,

In the article I talked about how the 'professed' Christians snub us but the lowly and humble are the ones that come to ask us about the things of God. Jesus said this about His disciples:
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (John 13:34-35)
Guess what we have found? Modern day Christians disobey that verse and in fact practice this:
We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. (1 John 3:14-15)
We are even to love our enemy. (See Matthew 5.)
If the modern church goers think we (and others who preach the truth) are their enemy, shouldn't they come to us and try to teach us the truth lest we perish (according to them)?
Sadly they are lacking true biblical love and instead show hatred of the truth. We have found that the world shows more love than the professed Christian of today. We have been told to not set one foot on the property of every single religious building we have stood outside of, yet we've sat on many curbs, benches or tables next to those who would be considered the cast-off's. Don't we see in John 13 how we are to wash the feet of the saints (yes that's an example of love, not literal) yet the professed Christians threaten us if we set our foot on their grass and the lowly will share theirs. (I use this as a blatant example.)
Today we had a free taco meal (I had a coupon) and drove next door to an abandoned parking lot to eat lunch. As we were finishing up a woman walked over from the taco shop and said 'Are you guys okay? I want to offer you some coupons for food if you need it. I don't know if you need anything but I've been there once.'
We thanked her greatly and said 'No we are very blessed and have more than we need for resources', offered that she should save them for someone else who needs them and gave her a gospel tract.
I immediately thought of the fact that she still came over (regardless of the gospel signs on our van) and showed more love to us than most professed Christians do.
I think of Matthew 5:
1And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
I also thought about what Jesus said in Matthew 23:11-12
But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
Amen.
Don't allow yourself to get carried away with lofty stature of the culture which tends to elevate people higher through worldly gain.
And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. (Luke 16:15)
Let us be humble and of the lowly, ready to give an answer for the hope that lies within us. (1 Peter 3:15)
Have a joyous evening.
Love in Christ,
Sister Deb
