Letter of Feminism from a Mennonite
Hello Sisters!
Praise God for each day...and I never tire of saying that:-)
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
(1 Corinthians 15:57)
We received this in the mail and since we travel and hardly check our mail, it had been sitting there for a while.
Here's the story on it...
Brother Jim had given a Mennonite man a gospel tract many months ago, the man took it home and his wife decided to write to us.
No, he didn't write the letter.
Their bishop didn't write the letter.
None of the men in their body wrote us a letter.
She did. = Feminism.
Let me explain some more:
We have a specific gospel tract made for the anabaptist type people and it shares with them how the anabaptist denominations (Mennonite, Amish, German Baptist etc) have many man made rituals that are unbiblical and sinful. Our tract covers things like not preaching a biblical gospel, Christmas, Easter, their unbiblical dress of the women and men, not following the New Testament model, ecumenical views and many more sinful issues. Although they 'appear' to be more biblical, they have many sinful ways they practice in the name of Christ and need to repent of them. In love, we reach out to them to bring them to the truth but sadly most of them are just as spiritually dead as the worldly carnal churches.
This woman admitted that their clothes are tight and unbiblical and that they don't preach the truth about Jesus but then defended the pagan rituals of Christmas, Easter and Good Friday. She claimed that we are not to judge and used Matthew 7 out of context. She also returned the gospel tract but did not put a return address on it.
It's just another form of feminism and we see it often in the anabaptist circles believe it or not. The first time I saw it I was shocked because I thought maybe they had more truth but the fact of the matter is they don't. Because they look different than the world, many of them are more theologically dangerous than the worldly church because they don't teach the truth either and are leading many astray.
Sisters, I don't do this to hurt anyone, I do it to protect you from people who you might know that fit this description. Beware of people who 'look' holy and set apart, you need to test them and all things. Test their words, their life, their actions etc. Satan would like nothing more than to bring someone into your life that looks like a believer but has not fully submitted and can lead you astray. Do not compromise on one Word of God.
I also encourage you to examine yourself and life to see if you are practicing feminism even in the smallest ways because that's how it grows. You may have repented from much of it in your life but we cannot stop hunting for the last bits and pieces that linger.
Now, back to the woman who wrote the letter. It's obvious her husband didn't want anything to do with the letter because if she had the backing of her husband she definitely would have shared that as well. She hid in the dark, right where feminism grows.
Let that be a warning and a lesson in many ways to all of us sisters.
Have a joyous evening.
Love in Christ,
Sister Deb
