There's a Way That Seems Right

Greetings sisters!
I hope you have....

Fall is my favorite season because you get so much diversity in it with all the color and weather changes.  We saw these flowers outside a grocery store....how amazing, flowers that flourish in the cold!

We are again thankful for arriving at our evening destination, looking forward to the next day and what it will bring.  The other day we stopped and I told brother Jim we are spoiled because we had a seat with a cushion and a big table.  We're not used to comfort because in our van brother Jim sits on the box between the seats and I sit on the cooler.  This is what we were blessed with for an entire afternoon to work on business and ministry:-)

It looks like we will be doing a few renovations on the van soon and I'll share the progress with you then.  I'm thankful that we were patient in all this because we have had a chance to live in the van for quite a while and figure out what works and what doesn't.  Too often people do things that look good on paper or in the mind but in reality it's not feasible.   Sort of like this verse:

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. (Proverbs 14:12)

Sadly so many are on that path, even those who were very close:-(  We know many, many people who showed fruit of moving forward seeking truth, stripping their lives in obedience, planning for ministry and all of a sudden they are gone.

Sin.

They've come face to face with sins that they don't want to give up and they would rather go back to their past and those in it than strive and push through with those heading forward in the things of God.  That way seems right to them but they are on the broad road to destruction.  Let that not be named among us sisters.  Strive on forward in obedience and God will guide you.

Isn't it awesome to look backward and see your progress over the years? The more you mature, year after year you can see the depth of what you didn't understand when you thought you did. God is constantly allowing us to see and understand depths that we don't even know today until we go through it tomorrow.

I love this verse about the old paths.

Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls... (Jeremiah 6:16)

I think about our brothers and sisters who walked before us, leaving an example to follow and I pray to do likewise.

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12)

Some days it can be trying to continue pressing on but each day you do brings you one day closer to the Lord and one day further from the past. Praise God!

Let's meditate on this...

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 1:4-8

Set yourself apart for the Lord, protect yourself from those who are not serious about following after Him and strive on in obedience out of love for Him.

Have a joyous day sisters.

Love in Christ,
Sister Deb
