An Unusual Haven

Good morning sisters!
I pray in this day you have peace and joy.
For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. (Isaiah 55:12)

Each day we have is a gift from the Lord, one that we will redeem the time for Him (Ephesians 5) and not let the ways of the world overtake us.

I'm so grateful this morning, we have a little haven in the midst of this busy world.  I'm battling a sickness that Jim is on the other side of and when I woke up I was strengthening myself for sitting in a busy mechanics lobby (we had to take our van in the shop) for a couple hours.  When we got here all the seats were taken so brother Jim went back to the van and got our chairs.

And here we sit, nestled in amongst the tires, not having to deal with the television on the other end of the lobby and having a bit of our own space.  It's much more resting for my spirit than being jammed in a bunch of chairs, side by side everyone else, with a tv pumping out the garbage of the world.  It's funny to think about, I can't stay home because I don't feel good and let Jim take the van in...it is our home:-)  Anyway, our Father watches over us and I think of this verse:

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

We don't deserve it.  But our Father gives when He does, just at the right time and it's always perfect.

We are holding up for another week and a half in this area because we have something that needs to be done and when we looked at the forecast it shows that there's a storm front coming in, dropping the temperatures down into the teens.  I won't lie, there are times like this that I remember that nice warm woodstove:-)  but I wouldn't change this life for anything.  There are people all over who need the gospel and we can't be sitting home.  Brother Jim always says  "If we can't go, who can?"  We're set free from the world to do so, therefore we best go do it.

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15)

Seems that 'religious' people love to talk about all sorts of things, especially about what everyone else is doing but when Jim brings it to the gospel, they get all antsy and nervous and have to go.

18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
(1 Corinthians 118-31

It's the foundation of the faith and it's a haven for us to run to when we need strength to endure in this world.

Your life, as an obedient godly woman, is a shining light to the world, showing the life changing power of the gospel.  Keep shining it brightly...

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)

May God be praised!
Love,
Sister Deb
