Strength to Stand, God Gives us What We Need
Greetings sisters in Christ,
I pray this day you are continuing on in the faith, standing boldly on His truth and not wavering to this wicked world! I'm praying for you to march on sisters.
We have ventured to a place that needed a specific witnessing, a 'calling out' and a hope for repentance from those within. I'll share what we encountered on the way.
We were pleasantly surprised with the scenery that we saw along the way, beautiful mountains up ahead.
What beautiful creation our Father has made!
We stopped at a discount grocery store and saw these apples (that's brother Jim's hand). I've never seen an apple that big...I think it would feed a small family:-)
As we got to our destination we saw this free standing 'refreshment center' by a gas station. It was interesting to us as we don't see such things in the midwest:-)
Their temperatures are a bit nicer in these parts than we are used to so I guess this could be year round.
I'll also note that the temperatures of the locals, when it comes to spiritual things, isn't much different than any other part of the country when it comes to receiving the truth of God's Word. Today we were out witnessing / holding gospel signs for several hours alongside a busy highway. We got the usual mockers, finger flippers and angry looks or comments but we also got some waves, honks and thumbs up. Same thing, different place but of course we already figured it would be so.
The destination we wanted to be at was right next door to a baptist church so we were able to be a light to both religious bodies at the same time throughout the day.
At one point, in the beginning, brother Jim was confronted by several angry baptist men...
It was an interesting day because right before the angry baptist men walked up, a man driving by stopped to talk. Brother Jim shared the gospel and this man wanted to talk more so he parked his car across the road and was walking back when all the baptist men were coming up to brother Jim. This man kept calling Jim 'Brother' and then started to preach over Jim and tell these people unbiblical things from the Apocrypha. Brother Jim tried to correct him but he kept preaching it so Jim walked down the road to the driveway of the church. (The Apocrypha is an unbiblical book, not scriptural and should not be followed.) As he walked away, a few men followed him but shortly after, one of their men came out from the building, whistled and all the men dutifully went inside.
We also were able to witness at the other place and saw the fruit of their unbiblical ministry. They claim to live from the sermon on the mount and preach love (they have an unbiblical gospel and other sins) but the man we encountered was not loving at all. Brother Jim has reached out to this group and the men have hidden from the truth of God's Word.
The great news in all this is that at one point there was a man that stood and talked to brother Jim for about 20 minutes and when he left, he told him that he thinks it was a God appointed meeting. He wouldn't go into detail but he was thankful. Also, a woman stopped by to see what was going on and I gave her at tract and said for her and her husband to go to our website. I told her to have her husband contact Jim and he'd be happy to help her and she was thankful. There were other opportunities of which we were thankful and it was a joyous day to share the truth for an encouragement for the sheep and a testimony against those who are against the truth.
I want to share an awesome thing about this day...last night before bed I knew I was going to have physical troubles today and I told myself that my Father will give me what I need. I woke up feeling even worse than I thought I would and wondered how I would make it but I thanked the Lord for giving me this day, pressed forward and said in my heart (again) that I knew He would give me what I need. I had strength to stand and shine the light of truth into a dark world and my Father gave me just what I needed...when I needed it. Praise God! I share this because I know some of you are going through spiritual trials and physical struggles and I can attest that I know very well how hard of a battle that can be. We are real people, we are humans, we all have troubles but we must press on and trust in our Father that we will have what we need, when we need it. Keep moving forward through hard times even if it's only tiny steps until you can get going full strength (spiritually and physically). I'm praying for you.
March on sisters...the day of our redemption draws nigh.
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.
Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:
Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:
Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:
Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.
Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.
