How Beautiful are the Feet of Them That Preach the Gospel of Peace
Greetings sisters in Christ!
Praise the Lord, sing praises to His name. The power of God is shown in the preaching of the gospel!
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Romans 116
Today we drove through the countryside on our way to our destination for the evening and at an intersection, far from town, was a man selling Satsuma's from flatbed trailer.
Neither brother Jim, nor I, knew what they were so I quickly looked them up on the internet and when we saw they were mandarins, we turned around and went back. He was selling them individual or by the bag.
(Fresh picked from the trees, yay!)
This man only knows Jesus as Messiah and diligently prays to Him (faith like a child) but now he knows the gospel and that he should be reading the bible for truth. It made me think of Apollos...
There's another really interesting twist to this also...
A few days ago brother Jim expressed a concern that he looks like a muslim with his beard and long tunic shirt. He was wondering about finding a way to show that he wasn't muslim.
* The next day a woman said that we both looked like Israelites.
* This morning as we were walking, a man called brother Jim, Moses.
* After the ex-muslim man left, Jim said that he probably noticed his clothing and it caused him to wonder about us.
Seems to me that we were shown that brother Jim shouldn't worry about looking like a muslim :-)
Rejoice sisters, that was fertile ground, pray that man and his wife diligently seek the scriptures and that satan doesn't destroy what was given.
Love to you, in Christ Jesus,
Sister Deb

He let us sample one and we ended up buying a bag. As we finished our business he asked us if we were gypsies. Brother Jim was able to give him the gospel and a warning about man made religion. (The man agreed.) We thanked him and went on our way, savoring the awesome, fresh flavor of these orange beauties.
As we drove, we were talking about how we both have peace about this decision to go this direction and were thankful for the opportunity to serve our Father in heaven. We rolled into our town for the evening and decided to go to the 'marketplace' (read about what that means here: https://titus24sisters.blogspot.com/2019/12/the-marketplace-and-fishing.html )
...to work online ministry and PRAISE GOD! Once again we were in the right place at the right time. An older man with his wife were sitting behind us and the man passed by a few times, hesitating as he went by. Before they left, this man came over and sat on a stool by brother Jim and asked who we were and what we were about. During the conversation this man said he was born a Muslim but is now a Christian and said Jesus is the Messiah. He goes into churches on Sunday, prays and leaves them to do what they do and does not participate with them. (The muslim faith is very devoted to prayer many times each day.) Brother Jim shared with him how the man made religious system is not biblical and that just prayer will not save you. He then shared the gospel with him and it was beautiful because the man had never heard the gospel. All he knows is that Jesus is Messiah and he is praying to Him. He admitted he didn't know what 'born again' was so brother Jim slowly went through the gospel in great detail, in ways this man could understand. It was beautiful thing to see that man intently soaking in the gospel. He asked some very good questions, shared some good insight and as he left, he handed the gospel card to his wife for safekeeping and thanked brother Jim for his time.
We are so thankful for such times because it encourages us to continue on, in a wicked world where 99.9% of the people don't want the truth.
I thought of this verse...
And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.
This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.
And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
