Should I Obey Even if My Husband Disagrees?
Greetings sisters in Christ!
How is your day going? Are you thanking our Savior for the precious gift given to us, the hope of eternal life, if we endure though this life as faithful obedient saints?
Today I want to address the issue of a husband who disagrees with the scriptures on biblical dress and headcovering. He may claim to be a believer or be an unbeliever but either way you are to obey God rather than men.
Go read Acts 5:20 for yourself.
You can find the teachings on headcovering here:

Biblical dress here:

Many women are in sin because they are following the desires of their husbands instead of God's Word and they will reap the rewards of that disobedience.
They think that Ephesians 5:22-24 (below) trumps Acts 5:29 (obey God rather than men).
They deceive themselves into thinking that it's okay to compromise (sin) to please their husband because if they dress and cover biblically, they will embarrass him. They walk the line just enough to please their husband and think they are pleasing God in their minimal attempt at trying to look a little bit biblical.
God knows your heart and guess what? Sisters who have stripped themselves down and killed their flesh in this area, can also see what's going on by the way you dress.
You can't serve 2 masters:
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Matthew 6:24
We have ONE master, that is our Lord and we follow Him by being obedient to Him, through the Word. The Word says we are to obey our husband but we are never to sin. That means if your husband wants you to compromise (sin) in your dress or headcovering because he doesn't like it and you do what he says, then HE is now your master, not Jesus.
We've seen it happen over and over. A woman will repent and be transformed in her heart, then digs through the scriptures wanting to be obedient. She cleans out her life, transforms her outsides and is walking obediently for a while...until the husband wears her down and she slowly slides backwards into worldliness. A little here and there. What used to be seen as sinful according to scripture is now okay because apparently her husband is greater than God.
That makes him her idol before God.
You will be cast into outer darkness if you are guilty of that and don't repent.
See, it's not a matter of a piece of clothing 'saving' you. It's not a matter of you putting it on that will get you into heaven.
It's a matter of OBEDIENCE. God's Word tells His daughters how to dress, cover themselves, act, talk etc. If we are in unrepentant, disobedience that is called sin. If we have unrepentant sin, we will NOT enter into the kingdom of God. If you are a born again believer and follower of Christ you WANT to obey Him in ALL things, regardless of whether your husband wants you to or not.
Is weeping and gnashing of teeth in hell for all of eternity, worth the price of some cloth? If you can't kill your flesh over some clothing, there's no way you will stand the test of persecution for your life.
I pray for strength and encouragement for you sisters and I urge you to immediately obey in ALL things lest this be your last day.
Praise God for each breath and the opportunity for repentance.
Love to you in Christ Jesus,
Sister Deb

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

24 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
