God's Creation the Sandhill Crane
Good afternoon sisters in Christ,
Can you believe that spring is just around the corner? I guess it depends on what part of the world you live in though :-)
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
James 4:14
We were blessed with a quiet parking spot last night until early in the morning when a semi truck came through the lot blasting his horn right by our van. (It was unnecessary so I think it was a test of our patience and brother Jim said God will reward him for his deeds.)
Who will render to every man according to his deeds
Romans 2:6
The moss on the trees is beautiful with the sun shining through and the breeze blowing.
We saw the biggest pinecone!
Coming from pine country in the northern US, this was a surprise to us :-) And then we saw these falling from the trees. Do you know what they are?
After our walk, brother Jim went into the hardware store and I walked next door to get a few supplies and as I was walking I received a gift! There was a sandhill crane right by the sidewalk and it let me get about 3 feet away!
I could have stood there all day watching him :-)
We're used to Sandhill cranes from Wisconsin but they don't let you get very close. They reside in many states in the US and migrate south in winter. The males can be up to 5' tall and this one was about 4'. Pretty amazing birds and the most incredible thing is, you can see all the traffic going by and it didn't bother him a bit. Obviously he's used to it and makes his home someplace among all the hustle and bustle of the city. I love how calm and peaceful they are in the midst of all the noise and busyness going on. That's how we all should try to be in this world, keeping the peace our Savior offers us.
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20
We are (tentatively) planning our next route / events and Lord willing, the weather will cooperate. If not then maybe we are to be moving down the road to somewhere else? Walking in the Spirit means being flexible and potentially making changes at the last minute. My job, as brother Jim's helper, is to study the map so I know the towns and areas as well as finding places we can park for the night. There have been days when we've had a last minute change and I need to scramble to catch up but praise God, He has given me a mind and memory for knowing routes, roads, towns and distances. God uses our talents, even the ones that were bad in our pre-conversion life and makes them good for our new life in Christ! What an awesome Father we have.
I started this post yesterday and didn't get a chance to finish it until today which turned out to be a good thing because I have another video for you. Check this out, this morning we saw a (potentially the same) sandhill crane at a gas station close to where I saw one yesterday.
We actually had a very busy day today witnessing at an Amish / Mennonite vacation community and it was rather stressful seeing their mockery of God's Word. Praise God for the strength to stand on the truth and we pray for their repentance. Tomorrow, Lord willing we will live, and the truth will go out at another event.
Have a joyous evening sisters and stand strong in the Lord in the power of His might.
Love in Christ,
Sister Deb

We took our morning walk and were thankful for a nice sidewalk that wound through a pretty residential area.
