God's Creation the White Ibis and Egrets
Greetings sisters in Christ!
I pray you are all well today?! The other day while we were traveling, brother Jim and I were talking about the crops and creation we were seeing and he suggested I share with you sisters. Glory to God for all He created!
We are currently in Florida and almost everywhere we drive we see white birds. This one is a white Ibis.
They are about 2 feet tall and are often seen by waterways and swamps.
Here in Florida there's water EVERYWHERE so it's no wonder why there are so many all over. They walk along the waters edge poking their bill into the mud feeling for insects, crayfish, worms, crabs and the like, also eat frogs, lizards and fish. Apparently the baby's beaks are straight when they are born but the beak curves when it's about 2 weeks old. The male is very protective over the female, eggs and nest. Sometimes we see a bunch of them roosting in a big bush, it's pretty interesting.
These birds look similar at a distant glance but they're smaller and called Cattle Egrets.
I tried to sneak up on this one (in the picture below) but he took off before I could get too close.
We saw this one (below) at a business, waiting outside for a treat from the staff. We often see them around the cows and sometimes riding on their backs.
We also see a lot of these bigger Egrets.
We love birds and marvel at the miracle of how they fly. Their flight defies logic and gravity of which man cannot figure out or mimic except to make a big metal object with wings and big engines :-)
Here are a couple videos of brother Jim feeding birds in a parking lot.
We are thankful to be able to see and give God glory in His creation of birds. It's a small refreshment from the world that we are constantly exposed to so when we have a few brief moments of peace, quiet and creation, we revel in it and will share it with you.
Have a joyous day and praise God.
Love in Christ,
Sister Deb

We always make sure to have some bread on hand. (From the discount rack of course:-)
