Are You Living for This Life or the Next?

Greetings sisters in Christ,
I pray you truly are standing strong in the Lord, His Word and not getting swept away with the cares of this world.  When we read Revelation and Daniel, we see the end times coming closer, add to that the issues going on right now.  Viruses and the governmental exploitation of them, 'talk' of volcanic activity in some areas, earthquakes and tornadoes leveling parts of cities, unscrupulous dealings with those in power and the list goes on and on.  It's simple to overlook a lot of that when it's not directly affecting us but when it touches our life and makes radical changes, we all have to be sure that we are looking to the Lord and not the news.  There's nothing wrong with checking to see what's going on in the world but I ask you to examine yourself to see if your joy is based on whether the latest issue is going to abide and everyone gets back to normal or is your joy based on the Lord no matter what?  If you watched the world and your life fall into economic depression, turmoil and persecution would your joy still be great in the Lord?

If we choose to serve the Lord, our joy and peace will come from Him no matter what the situation.  If we serve ourselves (which would mean we are serving other gods) then our joy and peace will be determined from our circumstances and how the please our flesh.

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Joshua 24:15

We must remain diligent even if the world as we know it, returns to a semblance of normality, lest we allow our flesh to fall back and partake of the enjoyment, forgetting to work out our salvation in fear and trembling then find out we were resting in our current state and not looking for what's ahead in eternity. (That was a big sentence and probably not grammatically correct but I'm not sure how to fix it:-)

Satan is a continuous foe, regardless of a so called 'world crisis' or in peace, he's still out there seeking whom he will devour.

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
1 Peter 5:6-11

Just sending out a warning for us to continue striving in the Word and in His truth.

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Luke 21:28

As I go into a grocery store and see this:

Which normally looks like this:

(and many other empty areas of the stores)

I see the world in panic over losing their freedom of the flesh yet not concerned over the things of God.  We have noticed people look as if they are empty, distracted and even more spiritually dead than before this 'crisis'.

We pray that these times, if they turn tumultuous, will soften the hearts of man and they will seek for unity in the faith.

Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

1 Corinthians 1:10

But we see a great falling away.

Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition
2 Thessalonians 2:1-3

Shine the light of truth that you have in you, to the lost in the World.

Have a joyous day and I leave you with another picture of God's beautiful creation.

Love in Christ,
Sister Deb
