Godly Beauty is Not Being a Fake

Greetings sisters in Christ!
I pray your day is going well and you are strong in the Lord!

I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:4-8

Have you noticed the new make-up fad?  It consists of super big eye lashes, painted on eyebrows, black lines drawn outward from the eyes, massive amounts of bright eye shadow, exaggerated lips, sparkles either glued on or embedded in the skin etc.  Make-up isn't new, it's been around since the harlots wore it in the bible, but the mindset behind it is getting worse. (We see little girls wearing it.)

...and 'so called' godly women are wearing it.

Yes, God's Word is clear, His daughters are not to paint themselves up like the harlots do.  You can read about that here: https://titus24sisters.blogspot.com/2020/01/biblical-adornment-should-christians.html

Many will claim that they are doing it in a more natural way, not excessive like some do, just enough to accent but I'm just going to say it, a woman who puts on makeup is doing it to make herself look sexy, attractive, prettier, draw attention and shows she has the heart of a harlot in doing so, just like in the bible.  How do I know this?  Because I used to do it before I was born again!  Women paint their faces to look like something they are not.  (I recall years ago before Christ when I saw hollywood harlots without makeup and you would never look twice at them without it but when they put it on, they become whatever the makeup artist wants them to look like.)

Women idolize themselves either with loving the way they look and showing it off, or by wishing they had what they didn't and striving for it.

Let's read 1 Peter 3 and see what a godly woman represents:

Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
1 Peter 3:1-6

Those are the attributes of a beautiful godly woman, not face paint that makes one a prideful hypocrite (pretending to be something they are not) and fake. The outside is dying and will soon be dust and if anything is hidden inside, it will be revealed.

For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
Luke 12:2

Often this question will come up:

"So you're saying if a woman wears makeup she's going to hell?"

We clearly see in scripture that wearing makeup consists of many sins such as pride, vanity, hypocrisy, lies, having the heart of a harlot, not being shamefaced, self idolatry and more. The bible shows that just one unrepentant sin will keep you out of heaven, what about all these?  If she doesn't repent of these sins she will NOT enter the kingdom of heaven.  Check out Ananais and Sapphira in Acts 5 who died (after grace had come) over a lie. In order to see God's kingdom you must repent and be born again (John 3:3).  We don't believe someone who is born again of God's spirit will want to continue on in sin...that's the heart of the matter. Our works show our saving faith.  Go read James 2:24
Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

And Hebrews 10:26 and 27
For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Let us walk in truth in all ways.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 12:2

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
3 John 1:4
