Being an Example

Greetings sisters in Christ!
I pray your day was joyous and strong in the Lord.  Yesterday I read a sisters post about encouraging one another and serving the Lord, each in our own calling.  In it, she mentioned about the older women helping the younger and it made me realize that that the most important area in helping one another is to be an example of good works in the Lord.  Many years ago I learned many valuable things just being by other godly women without even speaking (I'm not saying we didn't speak, I meant we learned so much from one another just observing and the Lord convicting us each of where we are falling short.)  No we are not to compare ourselves one to another....

For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
2 Corinthians 10:12

...but we are to follow the prompting of the Holy Spirit when you see something that is right and you may be wrong.  Sometimes actions speak louder than words.    As us women mature, we all come close to being in a similar aged state and then we simply continue to spur one another on because we all face different battles and overcome various circumstances and in them we can encourage someone else going through them.

I found it interesting that this sister posted this verse:
No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
2 Timothy 2:4

Then later on last night I received that same verse from a sister in a far away country.  She sent a couple pictures to share with you all, you can see them here:

God's timing is amazing :-)

We may not be face to face with one another and communication is either limited or not available but we certainly can do our best to be a godly example and encourage one another in any way possible as you can see how God works through all that.

It was a good message for me to remind myself because I admit I have had a few struggles with this world and where it's going.  I've had to mentally rebuke myself for when I'm suffering in the physical flesh with what ails me, my entire being gets weak and sometimes my mind wanders.  Brother Jim and I did a Married and in the Word video / audio about our minds wandering, you can see that here if you haven't already:

Being a good example and doing what we can to encourage one another can go a long way, even if you think it doesn't make a difference, the small things you are faithful in, end up being big.

Speaking of big, here's a big, beautiful flower I saw today...

It smelled so lovely...too bad the computer screen isn't scratch and sniff :-)

Have a joyous day tomorrow.
Bless you all,
Love in Christ,
Sister Deb
