We Still Have Freedom

Greetings sisters in Christ!
I pray you are thanking the Lord for this day and are thankful for it!  The other night we were parked and heard what sounded like a police radio someplace close to the van. I kept looking out the windows when finally we saw the car right in front of us, working on someone else's vehicle.

Apparently the man had locked himself out and the police helped him get back in because not long after he was driving off down the road.  Brother Jim and I were thankful that the police weren't there for us as there are many who hate the truth of God's word and call the police on us for no reason.  There have been times that we have been accused of chasing people down the street or running up to vehicles, which is not true as we record all our witnessing for just that purpose.  We are thankful to be free!

As this world continues to spiral into greater darkness, we here in America (other places as well) are losing our freedoms that we were used to.  'America, land of the free' at some point will no longer be and we need to realize this and remember to lay down our lives for the kingdom of God as it is not our home, it belongs to the world.  We are foreigners just passing through, on a mission for the Lord as we travel onward to our destination with our Father in heaven.

If we examine our lives, sisters, what may have seemed like to prison us (this new life of killing our flesh and being obedient) actually set us free.  When people see us biblically covered and dressed, submitting, keeping our homes etc they see us as in bondage to it, yet when you and I look backwards to what we left behind (makeup, jewelry, unbiblical clothing, feminism etc) we see that we have been set free from the bondage of all that.  I don't know about you but I had a lot of vanity and pride before being transformed.  I wouldn't think of walking out of the house unless I had on the perfect outfit with my hair, makeup and nails done up.  If I gained a some weight I destroyed my life trying to lose it.  If I got a spot on my clothing I tossed it out.  I was in bondage to my vanity and pride but Christ sets us free from that.  (Obviously we were in bondage to much more such as fear, lust of the eyes, various sinfully used emotions etc) Tossing out our old life for Christ is freedom indeed.

Another freedom we have is to look at this world for what it is...temporal.  Brother Jim just shared with a brother about how we need to look at this life and our trials as temporal.  If we get overwhelmed with something, we need to stop and go to the Lord to renew our strength to endure and then go back and push through. If, while we strive through troubles, we remember that we are only here for but a short time in this earthly life, it makes it all the more easy to get through because on the other side is our reward, eternity with the Father, and we can rest from our earthly struggles and labors. We can be set free from the bondage of stress from our trials if we remember that we are only here for a time and a season and none of these earthly things we strive to do will make any difference in the eternal world.

We still have freedom in this world we live and we have the freedom in Christ if we endure through this life.  What a glorious thought indeed!  The days are short and we must redeem them in this freedom we have!

Speaking of freedom, we spent the day with a young brother in the Lord who is setting his course to work hard to get debt free.  He has been living in his van for many months now and is working hard to buy a piece of land in the country so he can (over time) put up a small dwelling and have some peace, in God's creation.  We rejoice with him as he has overcome MANY trials in life, some that most people do not have to endure.  God is merciful and takes care of His people if we trust in Him and are obedient and wise in our use of resources and time.

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Romans 8:17

Amen.

Have a joyous day sisters,
Love in Christ,
Sister Deb
