Walker, Water and Witnessing

Greetings sisters in Christ!
We are praising God for this day as He is merciful and kind!  The other day we stopped at a park so we could take a walk and while doing so we saw a water spigot.  Then another.  And another.  Brother Jim tried one and guess what!  Water!  When we were done walking we went back to the van to drive over to the water spigot and before we did, an elderly man drove by with a walker on the back of his car. Brother Jim noticed it and commented about it.

We got in the van and drove around the curve to the water and I proceeded to fill up water jugs and dump them in our hand wash station on the back of the van.

While doing so, we saw the elderly man get out of his car and begin walking our way, very slowly, with his walker.  Brother Jim got a gospel tract ready and as the man got within earshot, he asked Jim how he was doing.  What a nice door opener!

Turns out the man just turned 89 years old, was a military vet and then a police officer for many years.  He and brother Jim talked about how different the world is now compared to back then and how fast it's changing.  Then brother Jim changed the subject to the gospel and they talked about that for a while.  The man said he was never taught truth in the religious places so brother Jim shared in detail, the gospel message.  While they were talking the man dug out his wallet and after quite a while of looking, he brought out this little paper with his prayer on it.

Brother Jim shared how the man made religious places are about money and power, teaching lies and heresy, warning him to stay away from such places and get his truth from God's Word.  It was very encouraging and once again...perfect timing.

See, we were going to plan to hit a truck stop along the way to get water but in God's perfect timing, we were in the perfect spot.

Praise God!!!

Down the road we went and here we are tonight at another destination.  We've been here before and in fact I just talked to brother Jim about what this place made me think of.  There was a young man that brother Jim was in contact who lived several states away (a couple years ago).  He claimed to be a born again believer, repenting of his sinful ways (including his homosexual lifestyle) and they had some long talks about the things of God, one of those conversations went long into the night, while we were in just this exact parking spot.  It turned out sad....because that young man stood on a topic of bad theology.  Brother Jim reasoned with him, pleading for him to seek truth but he went on his way.  Brother Jim just looked him up the other day and by his fruits he has gone back into his sinful life:-(  We pray that there were seeds planted that someday may come to fruition but it's all in the Lord's hands.

I leave you with another piece of beauty from the Lord God Almighty.

Sing praises unto our King!
Love and blessings,
Sister Deb
