Our Roots are to be in Christ
Greetings sisters in Christ!
I pray you are all striving in truth, rejecting sin, refusing to go along with satan's ploy to tempt you, shining your light of truth no matter what the circumstances and praising God in all things!!! A sister just shared this passage, how fitting and what perfect timing:-)
We've been dealing with a lot of people defending sin (as you surely see for yourself) and the biggest culprits are the so called followers of Christ. They want to be in the body, they want to go to heaven but they refuse to get in line with God's Word. This is not good fruit and most likely their roots are not in Christ but in some sort of deception with them being their own god, serving the god of this world yet thinking they are not. Yesterday I posted a rebuke for people we have known for years and I do that in love. We have loved them (through the Word) for many years and the truth of what's been in their heart for all this time, has been recently shown by their confession, in their own words and actions. We pray they repent. Let us sisters not be a part of anything that is against God.
I thought about this topic when we saw these roots....
They are all tangled up and not going deep into the earth for nourishment like we should be going deep into Christ for our nourishment in the word. First you need to make sure you truly have repented and are born again in Christ. (See the gospel on my husbands discernment blog http://spiritandtruthdiscernment.blogspot.com/) Many people think they are, but by their fruit they are not. We all need to examine ourselves...
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
2 Corinthians 13:5
If you are, you will thank a sister (brother) for telling you your sins. You won't get mad and defend yourself, you will immediately run to God's word to see if you truly are grieving the Father and then you will repent. That's biblical love, telling someone the truth from God's Word. It slices and opens up the wound so it can be cleansed and healed. Slicing someone (in love) with the word to help them, is love. Leaving them in their sin, is hate.
Our Savior was kind and loving but if you study closely, how he dealt with people, it was all about the Word and Truth, not their feelings. How did he treat the woman at the well? He sliced her open by saying 'Go get your husband'. How about the woman in adultery? He said 'Go sin no more'. What about the Canaan woman? He seemed pretty brutal there (we see it was to expose her great faith). What about all the people who walked away from Him when he talked about eating His flesh and drinking His blood, did He run after them? Nope, He was very forthright and expected those who followed Him to have faith and obey. The same is for today. I share all that because we see people (I'll share about women) who are all about fleshly feelings, not about truth. They excuse sin in their lives and others so they can have fleshly unity with them. We must stand on the rock solid truth and not waver or else we sisters will be tossed about by every wind of doctrine and led around by our flesh and we know Romans 8 says we cannot please God in the flesh.
Satan is a roaring lion (see 1 Peter 5:8) and he wants to devour you through weakness and instability. If we are deep in Christ our foundation cannot falter and it will only continue to grow as we seek truth, becoming more stable as the years go on. See a post brother Jim just did about satan in the campground we are currently at.

Now lets read verses 9-11 for strength...
Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Be strong where you are regardless if people turn away or cause you harm or try to weaken your faith. You may be the light that helps them see the truth.
Here's a picture of God's creation shared from a brother in the Lord.
I pray you stand strong and have a joyous day.
May God be praised in our lives.
Love and blessings,
Sister Deb

8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
13 And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?
14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit
