I'm not Ashamed of the Gospel...Standing Before The Crowd
Greetings sisters in Christ,
I pray you are all well today in both spirit and body. Each day is a precious gift, one that should not be taken lightly and be filled with thankfulness for all our Savior has done for us! We were out on the streets today in a decadent city again, witnessing to hundreds and hundreds of people walking by and at one point the people were lining up on the streets to watch a gun fight. (A re-enacted gun fight.) As I watched all this happening, I also watched brother Jim to see what he would be doing with this opportunity of having a bunch of people just sitting there...
He nodded and pointed across the street and over we went. You can watch the video and see what happened.
(For some reason the videos look like they are empty but if you click on them they play.)
Afterwards he asked me what I felt about standing there while he did that and I said "We were there to do the work of the Lord. I empty myself of me and don't think about what we're doing otherwise I get in my flesh."
It made me think of this passage:
I'm not ashamed to stand there in front of people while the gospel is being preached and they are being called out of their sins. Let us continue to grow stronger each day so when we come across situations that are not the most comfortable, we walk in the spirit, not the flesh.
I took this video as we were walking back to our van, how refreshing;-)
We have a lot going on and another big day tomorrow of preaching at (potentially) 2 tourist towns. We pray there are sheep and whatever happens...the Lord's will be done.
Aren't these cheerful? They were on the way back to the van also...Praise God for His glorious creation!!!
Have a joyous day sisters, may God be praised!
Love in Christ,
Sister Deb

It made me think of this passage:
16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
Romans 1:16-22I'm not ashamed to stand there in front of people while the gospel is being preached and they are being called out of their sins. Let us continue to grow stronger each day so when we come across situations that are not the most comfortable, we walk in the spirit, not the flesh.
