Greetings to our faithful sisters! How are you today? Have you been redeeming the time?
We will give an account for all that we've been given (see the parable of talents) and that includes our time. Amen?
We spent some of our time the other day, trying to figure out technology issues and I had to repent of some sins in that. At the time, we were parked in a nice park by a lake.
I needed a walk so I followed the trail down to and over the bridge to the other side. It was peaceful....
...And calming; God's creation in the midst of this troubled world. I used to hate being here on this earth, dealing with it all as a new babe in Christ, so many years ago. Today, I want to go home to be with the Father but He has tempered that with a longing to do His work here for my time, and encourage you sisters to do the same.
Just as His creatures do what He created them for, so I want to do the same.
And glorify Him.
Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying,
I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
John 12:28
He didn't come to remove us from the earth, He sends us out into it as sheep among wolves.
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
Matthew 10:16
Proving His power within us.
On another day we passed by a dam we know well and decided to talk a walk. I'm glad I brought our big umbrella because the rain chased us back not long after.
Living in a van has many challenges and one of them is being wet when it's cold. It's fine in summer weather where things can dry but when it's cold, you have to improvise. I dried my skirt with the heater vent as we were driving. It's nothing to have wet clothes hanging for days in my tiny inside drying area. We kill a lot of flesh living off grid and tiny:-) Helps us remember we're not of the world and to not be led around by our flesh.
Every day brings us one day closer to being before the Lord.
Are you ready?
It's a question I ask myself a lot.
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
(Jeremiah 17:7-8)
Another flesh killer is living in parking lots. We deal with the blower guys all the time...they blow debris into the parking lot in piles so the street sweeper can pick it up. Once again, we feel like strangers in this world in such situations and it helps keep our focus off our flesh and on things eternal.
We were out street preaching at the UW college in Wisconsin and saw this little tiny van.
You can see the videos of it here:
Sing praises to our King for all He has done for us and let us do our reasonable service.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 12:1-2
