While I Was Shopping... Another Fruitful Day
Good day sisters in Christ!
Praise the Lord for giving us the duties of a godly woman, to take care of those in our lives! What a blessing to be able to bestow the love of the Lord to those around us, being diligent in every good work that the Lord may not be blasphemed.
While I was in the store doing my keeper of the home duties / Proverbs 31 :-) God was using brother Jim to witness the gospel to some people out in the parking lot. He was sitting in the van working online ministry when a young man knocked on the window and asked about the signs. While he was talking to brother Jim, a car with a husband and wife, were waiting until he left, to come over to talk as well. Here's the audio.
Praise the Lord, the word goes out everywhere, especially in the every day life of a parking lot, which happens a lot. Brother Jim reminded me that I said (before we got here) that maybe we're supposed to be here. Last year in this town, we were driving through an intersection and a man in a motorized chair stopped us in the middle of an intersection to talk about the things of God.

It lasted quite some time and fortunately no cars needed to get through.
With the 'corona' issue being elevated once again...
...we pray to have more opportunities of people being out on the streets instead of inside buildings? Who knows? God's will be done.
Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. [27] What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. Matthew 10:26-27
While I was in the store I found some grapes, the biggest ones we've ever seen. I had to eat one in 3 bites they were so huge.
Those are manly grapes!!!
And we have a healthy fruit / nut mix to go with them that we found at the discount store.
As always, we are thankful to have made it to our destination. Before we left on our journey here, we were woken to the beating of strong gusts of winds on the van. The sun was shining and the cool wind was whipping so brother Jim hung out his wet vest, which dried in no time.
It fell out the van door one night in the rain and the next morning we found it. Free washing haha :-) Speaking of washing, before we left, we went to a park to wash clothes and hang them out in that whipping wind.
Some of you may wonder....why does she share things like that washing clothes, we all do that ourselves. I want you to see that every day life can be used for the glory of God in the life of a godly woman and in this instance, my obedience in this area put us in the right spot at the right time. After we pulled in, a woman walked by and was reading the signs, commenting on them. Maybe she'll go look up the website and be blessed with the truth from God's Word and see through the lies of deception. The last time we were at the park (washing clothes) brother Jim had an opportunity to witness to an elderly man who was out for a walk. While I was in the grocery store buying food, brother Jim was witnessing to someone as I shared with you above. God will use your every day life in the way that He sees fit, to His glory and although we don't always get to see what He's doing with it, does it matter?
While the clothes were drying, we ate some lunch and then took a walk. Brother Jim pointed out this nest in the tree...
Look closely you can see it. In the summer it's protected by leaves but now it sits empty, way out on a limb. I wonder if it will be used again next year or will be destroyed by that time? All that work from a creature that doesn't even have hands to twist it all together and there it still sits through all the wind and rain. Amazing.
When we got back brother Jim gave me a gift.
That's a key to self sufficiency of survival.
It unlocks the generator hut on the back of the van.
If the Lord takes brother Jim while we're still van dwelling, I will be able continue on. I come from a background of working on vehicles in my youth and then building automotive and off road seating in a manufacturing company so I'm mechanically inclined in some ways, which helps in understanding such things. I have an inquisitive mind on how things work (which helped in my corporate job of new product development) and all that can be now used, to the glory of God instead of glory to me. I'm nothing but a servant of God and grateful to be so.
Brother Jim gave me another gift. I know the other day I said we bless each other by NOT buying things (like those muffins:-) well he did this time. I just happened to mention that some day soon, if I found a good deal on some ice cream, that I wouldn't mind getting a little as a treat.
He went into the store to refill a gallon of water and came out with these 2 little tiny cups of ice cream. And what a treat they were as I can't remember the last time we had it.
It's been a very busy, productive day (as always) in many ways and we look forward to what the Lord brings tomorrow. This is the view from my window.
Oftentimes we're the only ones in the lot, which can feel somewhat strange. We appreciate it when there are other campers around but the Lord is watching over us as we go, He's watching over you also sisters.
(You can see the blanket around the windows, those are what I hung along the sides of the van walls for insulation. I then cut the hole for the window and hand sewed magnets inside to hold it on the metal, in place. A simple way to insulate without hardly any cost or much time spent.)
I'm excited as we're getting close to working on a children's ministry. We hope to bless our grandchildren and any other children, Lord willing, in the word of God. Let us all spend our time diligent in the things of God as the time is short and we don't want to be like the 5 lazy virgins do we? We just go forward and God makes a way for us to do what we feel He's put on our hearts and it seems that every year our ministry branches into something else, all to His glory. I know He does that with you as well so keep being diligent, pour yourself out like Paul did as a drink offering and the Lord will reward you with more to do.
Let us not keep hidden, the precious word of God and instead use the time we have to be diligent in our calling and ministries, whatever form they may be.
I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
Ephesians 4:1-3
Strive on sisters and hold fast to the truth.
We love you all,
Sister Deb
