Exposing False Teachers and Cults... Why We Do It
Greetings sisters in Christ!
I pray that each day we all grow stronger in the Lord so that we may endure through the trials before us, whatever they may be! I've shared how we expose false teachers / cults and warn others about the dangers of joining them but we seem to always get people who push back on that. Saying we should be long suffering and gentle, kind and patient with them while they (apparently) learn the scriptures. I've explained before, and wanted to touch base once again, why we do it so let's let God's Word show us.
Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called: [2] Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied. [3] Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. [4] For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. [5] I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. [6] And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. [7] Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. [8] Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. [9] Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. [10] But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. [11] Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. [12] These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; [13] Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. [14] And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, [15] To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. [16] These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage. [17] But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; [18] How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. [19] These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. [20] But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, [21] Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. [22] And of some have compassion, making a difference: [23] And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. [24] Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, [25] To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. (Jude)
This is also why...
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. [2] For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, [3] Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, [4] Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; [5] Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. [6] For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, [7] Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 2 Timothy 3:1-7
And this...
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. [18] For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. Romans 16:17-18
There are many more but I'll use this one to wrap it up.
Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20
See, most professed believers that know even the basics of the faith can name the BIG false teachers and cults but how many agree that the average evangelical religious body has false teaching? How many know that even the anabaptist type groups can be cults? What about the groups who look very biblical, act very nice and do great works? Most people focus on the BIG ones but don't realize that the 'smaller' ones, the ones that look more like the real thing, are the most dangerous...because they are harder to discern as they know more of the truth and how to twist God's Word. I'm not saying they all do it purposely but I'll say this, every single one that we've exposed and confronted, have not repented of the sins they have been shown, as of today.
Long suffering is for those who are struggling against their sins, not those who sit in them and make excuses. The false teachers and cults must be called out of their sins in hopes they will repent (as well as those who have heaped them up for their itchy ears) and everyone must be warned about them.
So, we're now in a town close to Well's Texas where the Church of Wells cult is located. I think I linked the testing one other time but it's HERE again so you can be warned. You can see pictures of them on their website and they look all happy and nice, they may be very sincere in 'their' faith, they may do some good things for others but that's not the marker for truth otherwise the Roman Catholics would surpass them and we know they are not biblical either. We love them enough to tell them the truth, call them to repentance, help them if they want to walk in all truth and if they refuse, they are to be marked and avoided, which has already been done. We pray there are sheep here, as there have been in the past that have reached out to us about them. HERE is another one. And another one HERE. There are many more but I thought I'd show you a few of the ones that may 'appear' closer to the truth on the outside but once you learn how to discern them, they have a lot of unbiblical ways. I pray they repent.
Sisters, this concept is to be in your life as well. You may have people in your life that practice unbiblical ways and if you love them, you will share the truth with them in hopes they will repent. Amen? Love is not overlooking sin. No, believers are not to yell and scream or cut people down, it must be done in love and truth, all in the Word of God. Doesn't James talk about those who know to do good and don't do it, to him it's sin?
That's love...love of God to stand for His truth and love of your neighbor to call them out of their sins.
Brother Jim has a teaching about the sower of discord and what it really means, <HERE>
Watch...the world is going to get darker and if you are not strong in the truth, boldly holding fast to what the scriptures say, you may not make it through. Those in your life need to see you not wavering and instead growing stronger each day, letting your light shine brighter and brighter year after year. Consistency is the key to growth and maturity, not wavering and weakness. God can give you what you need and over time you may be the one to help someone else along!
Let us rejoice in each day that we can defend the faith and share the truth.
Love in Christ,
Sister Deb
