Traveling Through Barbecue Land and a Wicked Feminist Facebook Message

Praise the Lord for you Sisters!

I hope you are striving on, continuing in the faith, enduring like a good soldier and looking to the Lord in all things.  I just posted an encouragement for struggling sisters HERE, But I've also got a conglomeration of various things to share, just because:-)  We are in the land of Barbecue where there are offerings of it all over.  Although we like it, we don't partake of it because it's not something we choose to spend our money on.  Here's a cute van selling it in a parking lot.  He's got the smoker hooked on the back, pretty simple way to do business.

I think it would make a nice camper too:-)

As always we're on the look out for water and usually are able to find refill stations.

.39 cents per gallon on a refill is better than at least .80 full price.  I know, most people don't think twice about dropping a handful of change on something but that 41 cent savings buys us 2 instead of one.  Water is something that most Americans (and many other countries) take for granted but we've been living this life for many years now and it's always a joyous thing to us.  And today we were blessed with this...

We use that kind of water for our wash station and I'll be doing a few items of clothing before we leave this town on Monday.  What a joy to have all the water you want, to rinse your clothes!!!  Water is a precious thing and that's why it's referenced so much in God's Word, as such.

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. John 4:14

And for us keepers of the home, you may appreciate this....

A big bin of potatoes in 5 lb bags.

Yep, you read that right, $1.  What sister wouldn't get excited over that and thank the Lord for providing! We love taters in any form, especially mashed (or baked but it's been so long since I've had one of those I can't remember:-)  Speaking of mashed, I use instant when I find it on sale so the other day this was our meal from all discount food.

Squash, mashed potatoes and a couple pieces of jerky.  Those of you with keen eyes will see that it's spaghetti squash in chunks.  I found a bag in the discounted natural section and thought it would be nice to have something different but it was taking too long to cook up to where I could shred it so we ate it in chunks.  We laughed because it was still pretty firm and crispy but we were thankful anyway.  I don't like to use a lot of propane when I cook because it's costly so we make do with partial cooked if need be and could care less.  I'll be doing a post (hopefully soon) on how we're saving on propane and doing a couple different things.  The other night I cubed up some random veggies, sauteed them in coconut oil and that was dinner.

I love veggies:-)

We traveled through some tiny little towns and the one we stayed in last night had these signs, I thought it was sorta funny.

Which way should we go????????

How about this way?

We saw that when we were taking a walk through that town with all the signs.   We see that scripture all over the place, I keep looking for the other verses, you know like 19-21.

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. [20] For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. [21] But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Just today brother Jim witnessed to an ex voodoo man (you can find that HERE) and they had a nice conversation.  He was a bigger guy with tattooes and a cigarette and when we walked by he said to brother Jim that he liked his walking stick (brother Jim's scripture stick).  I thought in my mind that it's always the least likely person that seems interested and brother Jim said later, 'Ya know, this worldly guy just stood there and confirmed what was being said is true whereas the worldly church people try to defend their position, claiming they are not such things when clearly they are.'  When Jesus said the world will hate you, well, the modern day 'so called Christians' are the biggest haters, which makes them the world, not God's.

Tomorrow is Sunday, the big day for man made religion to fleece the flock of their $$ in the synagogues of satan and we may be outside on the street looking for a sheep.  I found one in this town we're in that looked promising, with a sidewalk in the front and public parking all over.  Brother Jim looked at it and said 'Oh nice, the police station is right across the street so they won't have to go far when they get called.'  Which will happen I'm sure, I can't think of too many places where they haven't called the police on us.  Wicked people, just like in Jesus time.

I thought I'd show you an example of the communication we get from the so called 'christians' of today. This woman messaged us through our dontperish facebook page. Now keep in mind that such people are the ones who yell 'grace, grace, God is love....'

So brother Jim responded...

This was her response...

So brother Jim replied...

This was part of her response...

The word that I had to cut off is a vulgar name of a body part.

Just thought you might want to see the reality of those who yell grace and love.  Looks to me like they need a dose of it themselves. They are wicked and the Lord will do what He does in the end, I pray she repents, as all the others. It reminds me of a long time ago standing out across the street of a busy religious place.  Lots of witnessing went on during the service because people stayed out to talk with us instead of going inside.  I recall this beat up blazer sliding into a stop by us, the passenger window had a clear plastic bag taped to it because the window was gone.  The woman flings the door open and screams at us something about getting a life and what's wrong with that church (and some other things I won't mention).  The husband punches the gas, she slams the door and shoves her hand through the plastic to give us a bad gesture.

Anyway, it all comes with the battle and God toughens His children up for it with His armor.  After a while it bounces off and rolls into the ditch without leaving a mark.

There are times we're out and someone will walk by and make a snide remark to one of us and brother Jim will shoot a scripture verse at them as they walk away and it's like you can almost see it hit them as they jump.  (I can almost feel it.)  It makes me think of little David coming up against Goliath with a stone and it hits that one open spot.  Can you imagine the people watching David as he runs forward toward Goliath? They must all be thinking what a fool he is and the same is for us all, (you too) as we go about our life, living for the Lord and the world looks at us as foolish.  But the sheep don't do they? They hear His voice and follow Him as they see us doing.

Ya know, the more you serve the Lord and the older you get in the flesh, the less this all bothers you, really.  Because you see that you are getting closer to crossing over into eternal life and further away from this world...so keep pressing on sisters.   Don't let you earthly family, your husband, your coworkers, your children or neighbors discourage you from seeking after Christ.  Let him worry about all those people, you set your eyes on the prize, Christ, and run that race.  You too, may need to send a stone (scripture) into a Goliath (mocker) once in a while so be ready and your aim true.

We love you all, stand strong and I leave you with more of God's precious creation.

I don't know why blogger is blurring my pics....whatever.  It's the though that counts and my thoughts are all about encouraging you to press on and maybe bring you a smile once in a while.

Love to all,
Sister Deb
