Are Your Hands Clean?
Greetings sister saints!
I want to talk about biblically warning those we know...
Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:
If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.
He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.
But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.
So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.
Ezekiel 33:1-7
Today in the New Testament, all of God's people have the Holy Spirit and we are all responsible for sharing the truth and warning our 'neighbors'. Amen?!
Brother Jim and I had been talking for a while, about reaching back to some people that used to be in our lives and warning them once again about their impending doom if they don't repent, wanting to share the life giving gospel with them (some are getting very old) but after much thought, we decided that since we have done it many times through our past interactions, we don't want to cast the Lord's precious pearls. None have reached out to us in this matter, ever, so we shall move on and let them go... and our hands are clean.
When I was born again I was ZEALOUS to tell EVERYONE I knew about this truth and I was on a venture to do so, even after getting rejected every single time. There were a few that were very 'nice' about it and tried to tell me that the way I evangelize was a bit too much (I was just sharing what I found in God's word as I read it) and that it was all new to me and I'd settle down. To be honest, I would have rather just went on my way serving the Lord BUT, if you have the Holy Spirit inside you, you cannot stop it from overflowing in love for your neighbor, telling them the truth!!! It wasn't long and everyone we knew (even most of our children for a time) turned away from us. Instead of being dejected, that made us pour out even more to everyone we could, to warn them of the deceptions and share the truth. Over time, I examined my life and those who used to be in it and wondered if there was anyone else I thought that I needed to reach out to and at some point my answer was 'no'. Their blood would not be on my hands because I did my best to warn them. My question to you is...
Will there be blood on your hands?
Go to the Lord in prayer and ask Him to show you if there is anyone you have not reached out to that you should. If everyone you know died tonight, would you have any regrets tomorrow about not warning someone and sharing the gospel?
Only you and God know that answer.
I wanted to write this not only to get you thinking but to also close that door on my life and move forward.
Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
Philippians 3:12-16
