Heating Water Off Grid in Van Life

Greetings to our Titus 2 sisters!

We are grateful to have arrived at our destination and are thankful for yet another productive day.  How is you day going sisters?

I thought it was time to get on a Titus 2 post so I'm going to share about the various ways we heat water on the road in this van life. We know some people are interested and for others it may help if you end up out here too.

I used to just use a small propane camping stove but we went through a time where the cannisters were hard to find and with what's going on in the world, who knows when 'they' might begin restricting supplies etc.

We talked about alternatives and I found this...

An inexpensive, small 800 watt coffee maker that runs on our small generator.  Gas to run the generator is much less costly than the propane canisters (@ $3.50+ per) so we save money doing it:-)

And brother Jim came up with another idea.  See that hole?

That's the exhaust hole for the generator.  When we run the generator to charge everything up, we can heat water too...

We tried it when it was cold, under 30 degrees, and in less than a half hour the water was hot to the touch.

I recently made thermos rice and re-hydrated some dried veggies and dried chicken to go with it.

Thank the Lord for providing nourishing foods.

Genesis 1:29
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

I also make thermos cooked potatoes and then mash them.

The other thermos you see is re-hydrating the dried corn and we mix them on our plate for a meager meal.  We still have a lot of the discounted jerky so we split a piece of that sometimes too.

Just a glimpse into my simple keeper of the home life on the road.
Speaking of on the road, I snapped some pics on our travel today.

The sunset was golden...

And it was pretty to watch in between the trees.

When we stopped to get gas we saw these...

Alligators are plentiful here in this state (and surrounding states).  What amazing creatures our Father made!  They are a frightening thing to encounter but if one looks at them as a creation, we can appreciate all the wonderful aspects.

Psalm 145:5
I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.

God has done so many wondrous works in His creation and the mightier work is the transformed life, amen sisters?  The GOSPEL  is what can change a person from the old to the new, the lost to the found, the blind to the seeing, the deaf to the hearing.  Amen.

Let us sing praises unto the Lord and give thanks for all He has done.  It's been a long day and I'm off to go rest for the night and Lord willing, wake up tomorrow and see what the day brings.

Love to you all, everywhere,
Sister Deb
