Encouragement for the Day

 Good day sister saints!

Let us exalt this Holy God who has created all things.  He's given breath to mankind and offered us the hope of being reconciled to Him through His son, Jesus Christ.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21

Thank you sister for sharing the scripture pictures:-) I want to go through and comment on them.

I love that verse (Psalm 46:10).  Well, I love them all but some stand out at different times and each of us has our 'go to' verses for encouragement and strength.  'Be still and know that I am God'.  That's very settling to me when my flesh gets the best of me and I might worry, fear, be overly saddened etc...it brings me peace.

I also like that it says "I will be exalted'.  WILL BE.  That shows complete power and control to me and brings me great joy knowing that the creator of the universe has total power over all.  Why would we fear or be unsettled when serving such a great God?!

1 John 4:11 is one that shows the great love we should have for one another.  We see such a lack of it in this day and our Savior said it would be that way as we get to the end times.

And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. Matthew 24:12

He tells us why it waxes cold, because iniquity shall abound.  Oh, we certainly see that out here on the streets up close and personal.  But we have a great hope if we all endure in the saving faith until the end, faithfully serving our Master!

Oh and Luke 10:2...what an urgency we have to share the truth as there truly are few workers.  We pray the Lord send more and I'm here to encourage you sisters to be workers also.  Yes, women are to have a quiet spirit, make sure they are keeping the homes and taking care of their families but there is also the call for sharing the gospel, shining our light in the way the Lord has us in our lives and always being ready to do so.  We all have a different calling but all are called to be workers of the Lord.  As you see through the bible, God used women to share His truth (not quite like the men) but just as important.  I plan to do something on the women God used and how we should view that today (at some point soon.)

That makes me think of this:

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

We can be thoroughly furnished unto all good works, I love that.  We sisters talk about doing our good works and encouraging one another in them. Good works for a woman are being in her godly roles such as submission, covering our heads (which includes our hair), biblically dressing in loose, unadorned long dresses / shirts / skirts, having a quiet spirit, not usurping the authority of men, making sure we run our homes well, taking care of those in our lives, sharing the gospel, sometimes defending the truth of God's word etc.  It would be interesting to come up with an extensive list of what good works could be, sometime.  Anyway, let us all encourage one another on in them.

(Isaiah 40:10-11, thank you sister for sharing that.)

Amen, what a great God we have, one who cares for His children, leading them in the way of righteousness and holiness.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Romans 8:14-16

All those years in my life before Christ, I was hopeless and wondered why God, who created all, left us mere humans to be on our own, trying to figure out what's right and how to find a way to Him.  I had no clue, but now I know and see and eagerly look forward to sharing that precious truth with the world!

We know there are those who are waking up to truth and seeking to follow after our Savior, praise God!  As brother Jim says, the gospel is easy to understand but it's hard to do in the flesh.  We find that most people will agree to the biblical GOSPEL but when we speak with them, they truly do not because they don't fully obey.  This saddens us because our Savior who shed His blood for us is worthy of all.  We are to love not our lives unto death, which reminds me of part of a message we got from a sister...

She's referring to this verse...

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Revelation 12:11

Notice it says 'they overcame him'.  'Him' would be satan and we can overcome him and all his trickery (as our very young granddaughter once said 'he plays dirty tricks') by the blood of the Lamb, the word of our testimony (which is the transforming power of a new life in Christ) and when we love not our lives unto death (which means we won't be clinging to the things of this world and will be clinging to Christ.)

Praise God for all that!!!!

I'm rejoicing because we made it through a tough (hot smokey) night last night and were blessed with a cooler morning so we're taking a bit of time to work online outside at a picnic table (yay, what a blessing :-) before we head down the road doing jobs and witnessing along the way to our destination.  And by the way, these fleshly trials we go through are great for teaching us to kill it and put it under submission and not allow it to distract us from Christ.

I'm so thankful that we've been having water lately so I keep up on my clothes.  As you all know, there's always something to wash!

Once again we ended up in the right place at the right time.  Brother Jim will have some info about it on his update HERE.

And we didn't have too far to travel today since we did most of it yesterday but I took you along.  The smoke is so bad you can't see the mountains which are usually clearly visible and awesome looking.

Glory to God.

I hope you all have a joyous day when you read this and know that I love you all and pray you stand strong.

Peace, love,  joy and blessings,
Sister Deb
