Like Sheep Among Wolves
A hearty greeting to our sisters in Christ!
Thank you sister for the picture and following scripture..
It inspired me to encourage us sisters to remember this...
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
Matthew 10:16
Jesus sent forth His disciples. He didn't just say 'hide and try to make it through this life'. And then He goes on to share the dangers those disciples (and future ones) will encounter.
But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;
And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
Matthew 10:17-25
And then He gives us comfort and strength...
Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Matthew 10:26-31
And he gives us even more comfort and strength. Let's read in John 17 together.
I'm not going to go into the details of it all as God's Word speaks for itself, I will however, encourage you to press on, shining your light, sharing the GOSPEL and looking for opportunities to do so:-)
We finished with our jobs and then went to find a place to work online ministry.
I took a walk and shared some of the beauty.
And let's read Psalm 28 together:-)
What do you think a traveling Titus 2 woman would do if she were parked by a big body of water?
(The water was a bit green but is there any difference between that and the brown water I've used? It's called, killing the flesh and being thankful for all things!!!)
Brother Jim cleaned his phone and sent me a couple pics he took. Look close at the one below and you can see me walking to take a peek over the railing at a (dry) river bed below. We stopped so I could find a place to pin a gospel card.
The next picture is me witnessing to a woman that came up to our van. Praise God for the light we get to share with the lost.
And remember while we live this life, going about our Titus 2 duties...we may have times of peace but always keep your armor on because we are as sheep among wolves and satan is roaming around seeking whom he may devour. Let us overcome him by the power of Christ Jesus.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
2 Timothy 1:7-10
