Giving the Gospel at the Grocery Store

 Good evening sister saints!

Praise the Lord for this day regardless of what is going on because after this we are one day closer to going home to be with the Father if we are obedient, born again followers of our Master, the Messiah who defeated death!

This is just a quick post to share with you how you too, can look for ways to share a GOSPEL card with someone and maybe have an opportunity to talk to them if they are open.  Today while we were in the store getting a gallon of water, we walked by the bakery and struck up a conversation with the woman behind the counter, about all the delicious looking bakery they had on display.  She was very talkative and friendly while doing her work at the table behind the counter.  We decided to try a couple cookies...

Which then brought her over to the counter and she even gave us a sample of another one just because.

After she handed the container to me, I gave her a gospel card and she seemed rather interested. I was able to share a bit with her about the deception that Jesus talked about and that we encourage people to dig into God's Word etc. We spent $1 on cookies but the gospel that went out is priceless! (BTW, the cookies were super delicious with a cup of coffee.)

It's simple to strike up conversations with store workers and test it out to see if they are talkative and maybe receptive to be able to share with them.  A good idea is to thank a worker for all their hard work and offer them a gospel card.  I recall a story as I type this.  There was a man working behind a counter and he seemed a bit rude.  Brother Jim asked how his day was and he was rather brief about his answer and didn't seem to want to talk.  Brother Jim commented how nice everything was and how busy they were and the man smiled a little, opened up and said they were overworked but trying hard to keep up.  He got a gospel card and seemed thankful. We have plenty of stories on opening up conversations with people and being able to share.  Of course it's not always that way and quite often you find they are busy and don't want to talk but there are those who do and maybe that's the spirit working on them, I dunno:-)  Either way, I wanted to encourage you to have eyes to see such opportunities and be 'looking' for them.  Don't wait for God to drop them all in your lap.

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

2 Timothy 4:2-5

While we were in there we saw some interesting displays so we walked around taking pictures and thought I'd share them here as I know my Titus 2 sisters would appreciate them.

We're from 'cheeseland' so it's no wonder we appreciate cheese:-)

Praise God for berries!  It makes me want to get a bowl and top them with cream.

Food is necessary for survival but more so the spiritual food of life.

Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

John 6:32-35

What awesome foods! Praises to our Father.

I'm sure my canning sisters would be busy if they had a load of either of these. I used to can and dry all the apples from our tree.

Okay, I know some of you might be saying..."UH we see that all the time in the stores so what's the big deal?"  I'd say that I know some sister saints that don't get to the store very often and don't see such things so they would be who I'm sharing it with:-)  Besides, it's all glory to the Father for what He has created:-)

What a wonderful, wholesome food!

I used to really enjoy canning tomatoes, now someone else does the work while I do other works for the Lord.

Look at all the prettiness from our Father!

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Isaiah 40:8

While we were traveling we were looking for water and were blessed to find some:-)

Every drop is precious....just as every word of God is precious and to be taken seriously.  We just heard a man say that he never took the word of God seriously until just lately and was seeing much truth.   Satan's lie...making God's Word of little value when it's the giver of Life!

(Thank you sister for the scripture picture:-)

I share a simple breakfast with you...

And some thermos soup for lunch, made from dried goods. I'll do a quick video soon on that:-)

Oh and while we were in the store witnessing (yes the check out woman got the gospel:-) I saw this frost and thought it was amazing...

Coming from super cold weather up north, I enjoyed looking at all the different designs of frost on windows and snowflakes on a mitten.  What an amazing creation and how delicate the designs!  Simple things like that show that the magnitude of our Father cannot be compared to!  Glory to God!

O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.

Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.

Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.

Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

Psalm 139:1-14

I better get going as I have things to get done tonight before we venture off down the road again tomorrow, sharing the gospel and working our way north toward some big events to witness...Lord willing. Before I leave though I do have a small travel video.  (It's nice to be in some cooler weather, praise God for simple blessings!!!:-)

(Brother Jim made an audio about trusting others in traveling ministry, you can find that HERE.)

Much love to my beloved sister saints who are striving in all obedience.
