Trust and Promises

Good evening sister saints!

How has your day been?  We did some travel again today, heading south and then eastward but before we did, we had to do some pondering and praying as this is a new direction for us.  We are leaving what we know as comfortable (many of the states that we are very familiar with) and heading into states that we've never spent time in, as folowers of Christ, in the van life.  This requires us to kill our flesh and learn to trust in the Lord for our direction and guidance, just as He promises.  We were talking about how this is good for us as it kills flesh and reminds us that He is in charge and we are just here to do our good works unto Him.

Trust is something I have grown in over the past many years.  I remember when we first started talking about going on the road, way back before we even did, and I had fear.  Fear of leaving behind the comfort and security of our homestead but I cast that down in shame and asked the Lord to change my heart and teach me to trust Him.

It's not something we can just do, we need His help in it and if we go to Him and ask, He will help us.  Over the years we have seen Him do mighty works that solidify our trust in Him as He proves out His promises to His children if they are obedient.

I love this...

For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,

Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.

Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; [20] Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Hebrews 6:10-20

He keeps His promises (unlike man) and we can trust in that:-)

As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.
2 Samuel 22:31

Amen sisters, we are richly blessed to be daughters of the most High God, let our lives reflect that.

I have to go again (always much to do) but Lord willing be able to catch up here again tomorrow.
Thank you sister saints in my life who are steadfast in your obedience, love and encouragement of the brethren.

Let's give God glory for His amazing creation that is taking on a seasonal change right now as we go into fall weather.

Fervent godly love to you all,
Sister Deb
