Tunics to Truth Telling

Blessings to our sisters in Christ!

(Thank you sister for the sripture pictures:-)

Praise the Lord for all our experiences because He will use them to His glory and grow us through it!  I wanted to share an awesome story with you.  We've traveled thousands of miles over the course of the past several years and never seen a biblically dressed/ tunic wearing man out on the streets witnessing until we were in Jackson Wyoming this past summer (a few weeks ago) and saw a group of them.  Brother Jim witnessed to them and it turns out they have a false gospel and don't stand on the word of God.  Brother Jim tried to correct them and they ended up needing a rebuke.  Here's the interesting part....

A year ago we received a phone call from a young man in the Denver area talking about a group that doesn't claim a name or group, they wear tunics and they live with a community purse, sharing their goods....well sort of.  (It was pretty confusing what these people believed.)  Brother Jim warned him before he went on his way to do whatever it is he's doing now.  So while we're at Jackson we meet tunic wearing people from the Denver area with the same theology that this young man shared.  After all this went down we looked up groups online and it points to the Jim Roberts group that was started right in that area etc so we suspect they are of that group.

Fast forward to today...we are in a grocery store getting water and a woman walks by and asks if we are from Colorado.  She said she met a group of people there that we looked like.  She said her son and his wife were greatly encouraged by the group and so they went out to meet them.

God's timing is perfect because we were able to share the dangers of such groups that hold to a false gospel.  She made a comment that 'they were very sincere and loving'.  Brother Jim shared that loving is only good if it's a godly love because the most loving person we met on the street was a roman catholic priest!  And being sincere about your faith doesn't matter unless it's biblical.  (The Mormons and Jehovah Witness are very sincere but sincerely wrong.)

It was a great talk, she got much truth with the GOSPEL and brother Jim encouraged her to give her son the number to contact him. (We shall see...)

And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

Luke 14:23

Things like this happen all the time and I share it so that you can see how God can use such occurrences (even if we wonder why things went the way they did) to His glory and in this case to the warning of some souls.

Also, what else about this story stands out to you?

She noticed us because the way we are dressed.  Tell me that clothing doesn't matter. Not only does God's Word command women (and men) to dress biblical and women to cover their heads, the world sees a difference in it and it's a marker as well as brings conviction to those who might have a seeking heart. (Like it did to me when I was a new babe in Christ.)

Obviously God doesn't have us dress for that reason, He has us dress biblically because if we truly are born again and have His Holy Spirit in us, He wants our temple to be covered and taken care of how He determines.  But, in addition to that, we stand out from the culture and are a shining light!  Praise God.

Anyway sisters we learned a lot from this and rejoiced that our Father laid it all out like He did and it may be to the saving or conviction of a soul through that entangled web of events.

Later on this afternoon while we were traveling we were sitting at a stop light and a young man on a motorcycle was tapping on his bike and moving like he was listening to music.  We got to the next stop light and he was by us again.  He hollered at me "Are you guys storm chasers?"  I said "No, my husband's a street preacher, here want a gospel card?"   I handed one out the window but he was just a little bit too far out of reach.  He was about to jump off his bike and grab it when the light changed, the man behind him laid on the horn in anger and he took off. (Funny, people have asked us that about our van because of all the things brother Jim has on it for our travels. )

Praise the Lord for all things and let us encourage one another to press on in obedience because you never know what happens today will affect you or someone else in the future!!!

The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.

Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

Bless the Lord, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the Lord, O my soul.

Psalm 103:19-22

(And for those of you who blog, remember that we never know who's watching so don't grow weary in well doing.  We get emails here and there from people who have been following for a while and we didn't know. Praise God let the word go out.)

Let's go for a drive...

Here, I'll share with you a bowl of homemade vegetable soup and a hunk of a cheese bagel :-)

We have a lot of events lined up, Lord willing, the next month so we shall see how it all goes and who knows what happens now that will affect someone in the future!!!

Here's a last minute add in of a soup I made for lunch today (not the one in the picture, that was for dinner:-)

See brother Jims update from yesterday HERE
