Banana Bread Theology and Other Things

Greetings to my striving sister saints who love the Lord!

And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.  Romans 13:11-14

Amen, let us walk honestly as in the day and we know that we should work in the day as night is coming.

I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.  John 9:4

And let us not forget what comes next...

As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
John 9:5

We received a message from a widower woman that we've had communication with before and although she was a very kind woman, she was not interested in fully obeying God in all the commands for women.  After some loving and kind teaching on the subject she went away but apparently was following the blog as we just heard from her again.  We are thankful that our blogs can be of encouragement to her (and anyone else seeking) and she said she would bake us banana bread with the bananas that were given to her.  Brother Jim messaged that it is a kind thing to think about such a gift and then asked if we are in 1 Corinthians 1:10 unity and sadly it is not there.  We are here to help her (and anyone) if she repents and wants to go deeper and obey in all things.   Brother Jim said I should share with you sisters about such an occurrence as we see a lot of people who are very nice, hospitable and do many good works but if it's not done in the name and obedience of the Lord then it's all vain.

Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Mark 7:7

Doctrines of man, what would be some examples?

* False gospels (The lies of easy believe, once saved always saved etc)
* Christ-mass and Easter (We are to forsake pagan ways)
* Long hair as a covering (It's a cloth veil see a teaching HERE.)
* Modest apparel (Really means neat and orderly robes / dresses - unadorned, see a teaching HERE.)
* God doesn't look at the outside (He commanded us how to dress and carry ourselves.)
* God will judge our hearts (He judges our deeds)
* Go to church (We are to be the body of Christ.)
* Women can teach and usurp the authority of man (Read 1 Corinthians 14 and 1 Timothy 2 which refute that.)

There are many more examples but that should be enough for a woman to 'see through' the man made traditions, commands, doctrines etc.

The GOSPEL is what changes lives and how people are born again into the kingdom of God.  Go read it and ponder that deeply, testing yourself to see if you truly are in the faith lest you be left outside the gates in your fleshly rebellion.  Maybe you don't see it as rebellion but if we claim to be a born again daughter of the most high God, then we must obey His commands and all the banana bread baking or good deeds we do, will be worth nothing in His eyes as it was done in our flesh and not unto Him, through His Word.

I saw this painted on the side of a building...

Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.

I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.  John 10:7-11

What a great shepherd we have!

In my Titus 2 duties I made some more soup today...

And serve you a bowl of it:-)

We were in the discount store the other day and brother Jim found this:

We laughed about it and left it there:-)  I thought it would make you all smile:-)

Praise God for his precious creation and the blessing of us being able to see it.

I was blessed with many purses that I ordered from our sewing sister:-)

She sent scripture encouragements tucked into the pockets:-) She does an awesome job and you can see other items she's sewn for me HERE.

She also used this picture from brother Jim's update (you can see that HERE) and then sent it to me with scriptures (as well as the other scripture pictures you see here, thank you sister:-)

I love that....as that's what the saints are called to do, wherever they are and in whatever life the Lord has them.  Lights shining all over the world!

We spent some time downtown with signs on our van and praise God witnessing went on with an ex Hebrew Root man as well as a false Baptist preacher, you can see him in video...

He was irritated because he walked up to brother Jim and asked if he could listen in (on the the conversation that brother Jim was having with the ex Hebrew Root man) and brother Jim said 'it's a public sidewalk'.  He claimed to be a preacher for 30 years and that's what he leaves doing?  (You can hear the audio HERE.) So much for being an example...

Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;

Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
1 Peter 5:2-3

I hope you all stand hard on doctrine and don't waver sisters as it's our life.

Much love to you all sister saints:-)

Sister Deb
