A Day in the Life

 Good day sister saints!

Love and greetings in the name of our Lord and savior! I hope you are all doing well :-). We have been super busy and I thought I would share some of our day with you.

Brother James dropped a couple trees by the first cabin and so we cut them so they could weather for the next year or so.

Isn't that amazing and beautiful? Praises to our heavenly Father who created it all.

I'm thankful for the health I have to be able to do such things. I may be a lot slower than I used to be but like I always tell brother James, I'm the boss of it so I'm going to make my body do what I tell it to. (Most of the time that works anyway :-). Reminds me of brother Paul saying this...

All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

 1 Corinthians 6:12

Of course there are many people who twist that verse into saying all things are lawful meaning sins of the world but that's not true. Paul's talking about the law that the Jews were following not sin that we see today.  Anyway, I'm just thanking and praising the Lord for being able to do what I can do.

Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things ; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;

Isaiah 44:24

It's all through Him that any can do what they do.

Brother James needed a couple cedar poles for the cabin and asked me to peel them.

It's a job I really enjoy doing.

Before....

After.

Isn't that beautiful!

After I was done peeling, I took the blow torch and burnt it for color and to eliminate the little fluffy peelings on it.  Something must have fell on the ground and ignited the cedar peels and it started a fire.  I was doing something else at the time and turned around and saw it flaring up glad we caught it in time.

It's been pretty dry so we're thanking the Lord for it not getting out of control.   Makes me think of all the professed believers that are out of control and the numbers are growing like wildfire.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2 Timothy 4:3-4

Here's a video from last night where I was burning the trim for the inside of the cabin.

And here I'm peeling the bark off a live edge oak slab that's being used for a table.

I like peeling bark to get down to the wood. It's a calm and peaceful job that requires effort and patience to do it.  Just like in the Christian life, there is much effort and patience in our endurance until the end.

And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. Hebrews 6:15

And through all of this brother James has had to use a lot of this...

Of course he doesn't ask me to do it, I asked him if he will allow me to take care of them all.  Just one of our Titus 2 and Proverbs 31 duties amen sisters?

Praise God for days when you can just quietly live your life and work with your hands giving honor and glory to God for all things.

Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Timothy 1:17

I hope you have a joyous evening in the Lord. Let me know how I can encourage you in the faith:-)

Much fervent and unfeigned love to my sisters who love the Lord,

Sister Deb
